whitlock Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 Just shows all this 'passion' is a load of bollocks. First sniff at leaving and he wants out - get rid and get some cash for him. Bit of a hype about him, nice guy with zero loyalty. As good if not better keepers out there for me.
jimmeh Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 At the end of the day I still think man united would win the league with weale in goal
jock2612 Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 My problem with this is how fit JH is.I realise he would have to pass a medical but if SSL goes I think it is risk to far.

Babylon Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 Hillarious... how many "last offers", "we're walking away" are Hull going to do exactly. £4m and he's your Hull... stump up, or slump off.
whitlock Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 All this with Torres in a Liverpool shirt as your sig? Yeah, that's relevant. If he wanted to stay, why not, publicly (twitter) come out and say he was staying? He'll be off, its clear.
Dan Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 If by defensive masterclass you mean starting the world Cup final with a 4-6-0 formation then fair enough... Prefer to call it flooding the midfield myself. It worked though... Call it what you want. The record speaks for itself. Hmmmm the art of defending is by no means mastered by the Spanish. As a team and the way they press agreed but that is due to their midfield not their centre backs. Just look at Barcelona they played Mascherano at the back! Pique wouldn't last 5 mins in the championship, we need big strapping centre backs that throw themselves at everything and will tackle anything that moves, you forget yourself as last time I checked we are the Championship. You have only been watching football for a short while as the germans and Italians are the bench mark for producing world class centre backs, they perfected it, not the Spanish dear boy.. Makes me laugh how you talk down to what I put, yet claim that it's all down to their specific defenders. I'm not saying Spain produce the worlds best defenders, their gameplan, including their defenders and midfielders, makes them the tighest side on the planet and I don't see how you can deny that. My point from the off is that defending is not about individual defenders, it's about you as a unit and Spain have absolutely mastered it. One goal conceded during the entire Euros. Have you mis-typed that about Pique?
FoxyPalace.com Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 Hull are gagging for Kasper, http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/story-19316770-detail/story.html#axzz2WYsrzoQU Lets rinse them!
Spiritwalker Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 Is it just me who isn't excited by the prospect of Hobbs returning?
ealingfox Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 Again, I hope we immediately reject a third bid like the other two. It will probably be 2 or £2.5 million and that's not enough, even with Hobbs (who is currently injured!) thrown in. We valued him at £4 million and I'd value him at 5 personally. A good season in the PL and he'd be worth £9-12 million. I don't think we should entertain any bids that include less than £3 million cash, regardless of what players are thrown in with it. But having said that, I don't think we should sell him to Hull for any price below the outrageously extortionate. I would rather take the chance that we go up next season, and see him walk for free next June and go to a nicer, bigger club if we don't, than have us sell him now to a club as small and shit as Hull to have one miserable season in the PL.

For a moment there I thought I could detect an undercurrent of antipathy in your tone.
Harry - LCFC Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 For a moment there I thought I could detect an undercurrent of antipathy in your tone. In fairness you've dished out your fair share of antipathy to us in the transfer market recently. It's not that unreasonable of us to feel a little irritated at stubborn Hully City.
Bayfox Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 £3million plus Hobbs (which you quoted). I'd accept that as well. A good centre back, then we visit Barnsley and get Steele (just as good as Kasper) for around, or maybe less than, £1million. Have to say 3mill plus hobbs to play alongside wes. I'd take that. A good centre half could learn a lot playing with wes. And 3mill for a player who could leave for nothing in a year. Good tho kasper it's not like theres no other keepers on the planet we couldnt get for a mill or so.
ealingfox Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 For a moment there I thought I could detect an undercurrent of antipathy in your tone. Well to be honest a lot of it has nothing to do with Hull specifically. I don't want to see us sell the best keeper we've had in years for less than our valuation, which I'm sure you can understand, particularly after the frankly quite insulting nature of your first two bids, and it doesn't sound like this third one is going to up the numbers much. Regardless of the buyer I don't think a decent yet injured CB makes up much of the cash left outstanding. There is antipathy there purely because of the refusing to deal with us last summer for no real reason other than bitterness over us taking back a manager we loved, who loves us and who shouldn't have left in the first place. Plus by the gauge of your fans reactions you didn't want him anyway. But the second part of my post is still valid, it makes no sense for us to sell him to Hull for the prices you are offering I'm afraid. Why would we let you sell him on for three or four times the profit next season when you are coming back down? Another season like the one gone with us at this level and somebody better will want him, and its worth the risk of him going for free to have him in goal for us next season.

Harry - LCFC Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 Precisely. So many fans strike me as thinking good defending is all about crunching tackles and last ditch clearances but the art of defending is mastered by the Spanish. Not a physical side in the slightest - yet are the most solid team on the planet by a distance. They close down like no-one I've ever seen and win possession back by constantly forcing their opponents into mistakes. The way they play is far more solid than a 4-4-2 with two 6'4 beasts in defence and another two in centre midfield will ever be. I would disagree slightly here, I think Spain's defensive record is more to do with their passing rather than their closing down. They keep the ball for such a long time tiring the opposition out and making them less able to use the ball. Having said that, one thing we've concluded is that the midfield now has a much bigger part to play in protecting the goal in the modern day. Risky actions from the back four like tackling are replaced by possession football and more passive closing down from the midfield. An example of this would be Leicester's defensive record which started to deteriorate badly as our midfield didn't perform - gave the ball away and stopped having that 'Spain effect' we've described.

Look, businessmen are businessmen, they don't make shed loads of money by being nice or by being what most sane people would regard as reasonable. The reason why our owners wouldn't deal with Pearson is plain and obvious; in their view he reneged on his contract. I'm not saying I agree with their stance nor that I don't think they are being a bit cheeky by seeking to do business now, but it wasn't a response that would be a surprise, surely? As for insulting bids, well I wouldn't take that personally. Our owners coughed up £50m to bale us out after the last bunch of crooks so they're a bit sensitive now when it comes to shelling out millions one a bunch of chavs who happen to have a talent for kicking a bag of wind around......it's not personal, they are bidding low to everyone. In all honesty, tho, whether KS comes to us or not, it is surely in your clubs interests, with the impending FFP kicking in in December, to get high earners out of the club as fast as possible, for the highest price possible and price is determined under those circumstances by demand and supply.
Walshy5 Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 Hold on. I thought we'd already rejected a 3rd bid being Cash + Hobbs.
MPH Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 What about 2 million plus Hobbs and Stewart. Would people take that?
The Horse's Mouth Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 What about 2 million plus Hobbs and Stewart. Would people take that? Stewart is fvcking garbage.
MPH Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 Stewart is fvcking garbage. Played well, got injured, played crap.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 Played well, got injured, played crap. indeed, I think a mill being dropped off the offer would be a little silly considering he isn't worth that.
MPH Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 indeed, I think a mill being dropped off the offer would be a little silly considering he isn't worth that. The offer has never been 3m unless I have missed something? You mean the asking price?
The Horse's Mouth Posted 18 June 2013 Posted 18 June 2013 The offer has never been 3m unless I have missed something? You mean the asking price? I weren't sure if that was a somewhat response of the suggestion of 3 mill + Hobbs
