Schmeichel to go then?

Just shows all this 'passion' is a load of bollocks. First sniff at leaving and he wants out - get rid and get some cash for him. Bit of a hype about him, nice guy with zero loyalty. As good if not better keepers out there for me.

Bit harsh that!

Think it suited Leeds at the time to sell him - I don't think he asked to go.

It seems that we need to free up some cash to improve other areas - don't want him to go but we've got to do what's in the best interests of the club.

Just a pity it's hull though

I weren't sure if that was a somewhat response of the suggestion of 3 mill + Hobbs

Nope.

I don't think they would go any higher money-wise but I think they might add another player into the mix....

Call it what you want. The record speaks for itself.

Makes me laugh how you talk down to what I put, yet claim that it's all down to their specific defenders.

I'm not saying Spain produce the worlds best defenders, their gameplan, including their defenders and midfielders, makes them the tighest side on the planet and I don't see how you can deny that. My point from the off is that defending is not about individual defenders, it's about you as a unit and Spain have absolutely mastered it. One goal conceded during the entire Euros.

Have you mis-typed that about Pique?

Yes a huge mis quote, hence United allowing him to leave. He doesn't have the ohysical attributes to play in the prem. You forget yourself time and time again its the influence sky and champ manager has on you youngsters. We play in the championship not at the highest level of the game. You need to be far more realistic, its like comparing Jennifer Aniston to a Midlands weather girl. I do believe that your are consumed with your own importance and it shows in the majority of your posts, let thw grown ups do the talking.. And I am ever so pleased that I made you laugh...

When did Luke Steele become the greatest keeper in the league?? Or does he just have great stats on champ manager? Someone else mentioned that kasper was a top top keeper but them claimed the majority of keepers in the league would have made the same saves? Make your mind up. Peter Snr was 28 when United signed him lest we forget. Kasper is 3/4 off his prime.. Jack Hobbs is average at best...

Yea but Kasper could be leaving and Gobbs coming in. That alone means that Kaspers ability diminishes and Hobbs' increases.

Unless it doesnt happen of course in which case Kasper remains macdaddy.

Would be interesting if we kept Kasper but went to buy Hobbs whether they would deal. If reports are true, we now know what they value Hobbs at and also that they are prepared to let him go. Add to the fact we know NP likes him as a player.

I don't think it's got much to do with his passion or commitment - imagine you're in our club's shoes and you're looking at FFP, then looking at the expenses and the losses in previous seasons and you're forced to sell your best assets in order to stay financially competitive.

Schmeichel strikes me as highly-talented, passionate and committed. He's a good keeper and can only get better. Sadly, he doesn't have final say in such a trade matter.

If we're getting a suitable replacement at a bargain price plus another player included in the deal (or sell-on clause), I'd say the majority of Leicester City fans wouldn't have much to complain about.

I'm sure that he didn't want to leave Leeds and he made that quite clear on twitter with posted videos etc.

If he didn't want to leave us, i'd have thought he would have made that fairly clear. He's normally fairly vocal on twitter, since the season ended there hasn't been a murmur from him.

I'd happily take £3m and Hobbs - if that's the offer.

Of course Hobbs is average at best. That's why he doesn't play for Manchester United, Liverpool or Arsenal... But does quality get you out of this division? Well, we've only seen this twice in recent seasons with West Ham and Newcastle. Do average, hardworking players get you out of this division? Yes - Ask Blackpool, Norwich, Reading, Hull, Cardiff, Southampton and most recently Palace.

Hobbs is a good centre back at this level.

Hearing we've finally given up on Schmeichel. Good luck next season.

Cue another pitiful offer......

Hull "How much for Kasper"

Leicester "£4m"

Hull "We'll give you £1m"

Leicester "Ha ha ha ha ha"

Hull "OK final offer, £1.25m. We'll leave the offer on the table though cus we think you are desperate"

Leicester "Nah you're ok"

Hull "We're going elsewhere... look we've had an offer accepted on some scottish bloke"

Leicester "Cheerio"

Hull "Did we say £1.25m final offer, errrrr that was an admin error. It should have been £1.75m"

Leicester "Well your last bid is still on the table where you left it"

Hull "Great, we've changed the bid and put it back on the table, you going to accept?".

Leicester "No, and please stop touching our table".

Hull "Oh be fair, why won't you play ball with us?"

Leicester "Because you're a c***".

***Ring Ring, Ring Ring***

Leicester "Hello"

fonejacker.jpg

Caller: "GREETINGS, Permit me to inform you of my desire of going into business relationship with you. I got your contact from the International web site directory. I prayed over it and selected your name among other names due to it's esteeming nature and the recommendations given to me as a reputable and trust worthy person I can do business with and by the recommendations I must not hesitate to confide in you for this simple and sincere business.

Leicester "Who are you?"

Caller: "I am Wumi Abdul; the only Son of late Mr and Mrs George Abdul. My father was a very wealthy cocoa merchant in Abidjan, the economic capital of Ivory Coast before he was poisoned to death by his business associates on one of their outing to discus on a business deal. When my mother died on the 21st October 1984, my father took me and my younger brother HASSAN special because we are motherless. Before the death of my father on 30th June 2002 in a private hospital here in Abidjan. He secretly called me on his bedside and told me that he has a sum of $12.500.000 (Twelve Million, five hundred thousand dollars) left in a suspense account in a local Bank here in Abidjan, that he used my name as his first Son for the next of kin in deposit of the fund."

Leicester "Ok, what does that have to do with us?"

Caller: "He also explained to me that it was because of this wealth and some huge amount of money his business associates supposed to balance his from the deal they had that he was poisoned by his business associates, that I should seek for a God fearing foreign partner in a country of my choice where I will transfer this money and use it for investment purpose, (such as real estate management). Sir, we are honourably seeking your assistance in the following ways.

If you can deposit one Kasper Schmeichal into our account before noon Friday, the funds will be released and....."

Leicester: "Mr Bruce, is that you? I don't know how many times we have to tell you...."

I would disagree slightly here, I think Spain's defensive record is more to do with their passing rather than their closing down. They keep the ball for such a long time tiring the opposition out and making them less able to use the ball.

Having said that, one thing we've concluded is that the midfield now has a much bigger part to play in protecting the goal in the modern day. Risky actions from the back four like tackling are replaced by possession football and more passive closing down from the midfield. An example of this would be Leicester's defensive record which started to deteriorate badly as our midfield didn't perform - gave the ball away and stopped having that 'Spain effect' we've described.

Their entire gameplan makes them the planets most solid side. They keep the ball effortlessly, have more energy than the opposition do when Spain aren't on the ball and force sides into mistakes. Italy may have been historically the best defensive side but this lot are the best on the planet at the minute for me, and by a distance too.

Wow, you don't know what you are talking about!! Big Wes is a very good player at this level, but yet he isn't being courted by United, Chelsea or Arsenal ? Jack Hobbs is average at Championship level, I think a lot of you remember him a bit too fondly, he was hardly Franco Baresi! We can do much better by raiding Man Utd reserves again or any Prem club for that matter. Keane was twice the player Hobbs is/was/will be.

Hobbs under Pearson was a very good player here and at Hull, not perfect but very good... that's why he won player of the year at such a young age during a fairly successful season!

Maybe Keane will be better, but he really wasn't any better during his time here.
