E3 2013

Recommended Posts

The most basic model is £349, thats without the 'Eye'

You`d be best off waiting a year for the prices to grind down and wait for the best games.

Heard the PS Vita will be a handy addition to your console, non-static gaming maybe

Well it's coming in at 150 quid less than the ps3 I bought on day one. I am extremely tempted to jump ship back again now tbh as I am not liking Microsoft's authoritarian attitude.

Microsoft are penalising gamers who want second hand games and those who aren't really all that bothered are still screwed if they live in an area with a hopeless Internet connection. Where does this leave online rental companies like lovefilm?

I will go for the PS4 purely from a protest vote standpoint - I'm not bothered if it doesn't have decent exclusives from day one. It's likely to be used fairly sparingly anyway as I no longer have the gaming time!

Roll on November.

Ps4 supports used games! No online connection required!

WOW!!! is lets you play games you buy, without the internet!!! Noooo... and it's a games console too, who'd have thought!!?

No backwards compatibility with the ps4,Wii U and Xbox one are the same.

Tho you can stream ps3 games to the ps4 using the gaikie(wrong spelling I know) streaming service that will be on the PS4.

Sorry, but the Wii U IS backwards compatible, 100% of your Wii games work on it! Plus 90% of any VC/WiiWare titles too!

Absolutely no chance I'd get an XBox One now, the PS4 has battered it in every form before they've even left the starting blocks.

I've been an avid 360 user for 6 or 7 years but:

• I specifically didn't buy the Kinect because it's a useless gimmicky steaming heap of shit that in no way should represent the future of gaming.

• The fact that I now have to purchase one alongside the X1 is ridiculous, bearing in mind every game I buy won't use it.

• This thing must be on for the X1 to boot up. No thanks.

• I rarely loan games to friends so the non-borrowing policy personally doesn't affect me. However it's a massive middle-finger to millions of innocent gamers.

• I had no qualms with paying for Xbox Live Gold before, but it seems a hell of a lot of the development of "new" Xbox Live has gone into integrating TV. If I want to watch TV, I don't need my Xbox switched on.

• Not a conspiracy theorist myself, but I'd be amazed if in a year's time there wasn't at least one credible scandal involving Kinect and serious privacy invasion.

• And after the world-wide reaction to how bad the Xbox One is looking, Microsoft priced their console £80 (EIGHTY) more than the PS4. Surely... SURELY they have some insiders at Sony? Had months to look at what they were doing, pricing... they've got everything wrong.

Literally the only thing that I can think of that Microsoft has over Sony is the thumbstick layout on the controller, but I can get used to Dual Shock again

The Wii U isn't a next generation console, please don't compare the Wii U to PS4/X1.

Quote from the Nintendo sites, "Almost all Wii games" tho it's done thru Wii mode, tho tbf....who buys a Nintendo game nowadays except for there 1st party stuff. ;)lol

dont want to sound like a fanboy here, but there is meant to be a new UI for the PS4, and if people are dont like the controller and prefer the Xbox one, expect a Xbox style controller for the PS4 for launch or at least a week or 2 after, :)

For me, Sony they had won before they even started. All eyes were on Microsoft and putting right their errors but they just brushed all their problems under the carpet and hoped their exclusives saved it. All Sony had to do was tell everyone the basics, no DRM, better price, good games... Microsoft has got it completely wrong and are going to take a huge hit and I don't even know what they could do to save themselves. Sad really, as it will mean my 5 year old XBL profile will be rendered useless after 360.

Ah well, cheaper price and I get Planetside 2 to look forward to. :D

I know whatever will happen next! You might get lucky and Nintendo might actually release a decent game for the Wii U!

I don't understand. Just because the Wii U was released very late into the current generation cycle doesn't mean it's a next generation console. I'd compare it to the Sega Mega-CD - a couple of new ideas but in essence the internals are outdated even at launch.

I'm sure the Wii U will eventually find an audience, possibly taking some from 360 owners who refuse to buy the X1 (there'll be plenty) and I'm sure it's a good console in its own right. But personally I don't think using specs from 8-year old systems elsewhere is excusable, especially at the price they're charging. Same with the original Wii, that had embarrassing specs which was evident in almost every game released for it. I can see Nintendo going the way of Sega in the next couple of years

Absolutely gutted that Microsoft have ballsed up this X1 by the looks of things. Had a 360 for several years and in my view it's the dogs proverbials. Controller is perfection and I don't want to go back to the PlayStation one in the future. Lack of Halo and the suitability of FIFA to the Xbox control means I don't want to go back to PlayStation at all really. That said, this means I will probably buy neither, maybe getting an X1 in a couple of years when the price comes down, and hopefully they are coerced by the consumers into removing some of the more draconian measures that come with it.

I think I'll settle for the revamped XBOX 360.

Time will tell whether the One can really be a force on the market or if it's going to crash like crazy. There's just too many things about it that I simply don't like at all.

Until the price has come down and we've got reviews from users and from data safety specialists as well as detailed confirmation from Microsoft that the XBOX One won't intrude everyone's privacy, I shall give it a pass.

Way too risky an investment at the moment.

Think the people chanting 'Sony, Sony, Sony' in the crowd summed it up better than I ever could.

Microsoft got their asses kicked last night, no other way of putting it, the used games and $399 moments were worth staying up until 4AM for alone. There's never been a reaction from the crowd like that at E3.

Considering it was a video game conference, it was pretty exhilarating!

Would take a minor miracle for me to invest in a One now. They've showed the better games to be fair to them but if they think I'm paying £429 a console £60-70 for a game just to have them blocked not being able to by second hand etc (always online I'm not too fussed) they are aving a girrafe.

I'd want to see some games from Sony before the end of the conference as at the minute they're just playing off the unpopularity of the Xbone, seem to be taking the mistaken attitude that people have to buy one or the other and are basically pointing at it and saying "look at that piece over priced piece of shit, buy this instead"
