Player Profile

Born in Barnet, goalkeeper Furr started his career with Hitchen St Johns before moves around numerous clubs in that area followed - including Hitchen Union Jack and Hitchen Town.

He finally made his move away from Hitchen when Croydon Common came calling, and he also played for Brentford before arriving at Fosse in May 1912. He'd played under Fosse manager Jack Bartlett at Croydon and arrived as back-up to Fred Mearns. His debut came in a clash at Huddersfield Town but stayed for just eight league games.

Furr came from a football-mad family and he was followed to Fosse by brother Willie just weeks after Harold came to Filbert Street. But he conceded an average of three goals per game while he was at the club, something that cut short his time between the sticks.
