I’m as pleased as I can be given the circumstances. I hate what the club has become and want serious change from ownership downwards. That won’t happen overnight and I certainly don’t want us to drop to League 1. So in the short term, I am pleased the embarrassing clean sheet record and 2 months without win are off our back and we might be looking more positive for the remainder of what has been a completely miserable season. Perhaps relieved is a better word than pleased.
As for Skipp, we massively overpaid of course. But it is about building a team and not a collection of individuals so I have a lot more time for him than many of our other players.
Considering we paid 18M for Soumaré 17 for Praet 22 for Daka 30 for Perez and paid 12 for Ward after 2 Matches for Liverpool not sure we did overpay for Skipp 20M isn't that much money these days.

Bias clouding people’s judgement works both ways. I’m not alone on here in seeing that despite fabulous effort, Skipp is an issue in such a key central role in the team.
You are obviously too young too have watched Ali Mauchlen or Neil Lennon like Skipp they were very similar players but always put in a shift

Don’t like either Henderson or Thomas, I’ve met them both numerous times, however they are doing an excellent job, so credit to them both.
I've always found Henderson a nice guy always used to give me one of his shirts at the end of the season.

Of course I meant Birkenshaw but back then the captain was basically the coach. Have seen Birkenshaw down GR a couple of times this season. I hope he’s buzzing today.
Jack's down every match not too steady on his feet these days but he is 85

Personally don't think we would have, you can cite good players joining but don't forget some of the dross also accumulated under him, also wasn't Hull recommended to us. Thomas also seems to still have good links with Somerset that have benefited us.
Yes Hull was recommended to us but from what I gather there was interest from other clubs and Nico convinced him to join You say he signed some dross well yes one or two but don't forget he was working with a much reduced budget back then the likes of Davis Griffiths Rhodes about all we could afford

Alfonso got to go down as our best coach since Whitaker? One trophy and a promotion in three years? Some record for a club like ours!
Think we would have got there under Nico don't forget he signed the likes of Patel Scriven Wright etc and was a driving force in signing Rehan from Notts and spotting Hull from Northants.Whittaker was never a coach but granted a fine captain

Father Ted writer Graham Linehan arrested by 5 armed officers as he landed at Heathrow.Sounds serious wonder what crime he's committed

A really poor effort in the 50 over competition, considering the side we’ve been able to field it’s been very disappointing, added to the muddled confusion of the T20 campaign the coach needs to do far better.
We are below Surrey's under 10s

Need Notts and Worcs to lose today, so far so good
And Derby for that matter all 3 will be chasing 300 plus

How we’ve managed a tie after those first 3 balls I’ll never know. Still keeps us in with the very slightest of chances.
Not really Notts and Worcs have still got to play Surrey

Wouldn't be surprised if we make a short term loan signing for a spinner. I'm assuming Trevaskis is injured? Can't see why else he wouldn't have played.
Looked fit enough in the warm ups

Davey's a very good addition. Handy with the bat, solid with the ball and a really good bloke as well.
Not sure about 3 years though

Four signings i heard. Could be wrong. Here is number 2 Josh Davey.
Ben Green and Kasey Aldridge incoming. Might be bullshit. They were right about the first pair.
Throught Stevie E from Middlesex was the other one

Oakham was used a couple of years ago. Dreadful facilities and really poor pitch. Not surprised they haven’t gone back.
Agree the pitch was poor but not sure about having dreadful facilities in what way is it inferior to Kibworth?

Presumably all the other counties have similar (if not higher) influx of funds. Does that mean we see a few seasons with inflated wages and a lot of the money disappears ???
In a word yes like we seen with the Inflex of money in the PL the players will be the main benefactors

Just says it's a county coach, rather than Head Coach, so could be anyone. Shared pictures of his middle stump.
Very true could be a coach at youth level
