  1. In seriousness, I think we're just helping him and Surrey CCC out with game time, he's currently studying Sport Management at Loughborough University and turned out for their UCCE side earlier this season - https://www.linkedin.com/in/sheridon-gumbs-881132325/?originalSubdomain=uk. There's no sign that he's been released by his parent club.
  2. We must have found him through word of mouth
  3. I see left arm quick Michael Finan (remember him?), following his unsuccessful stint with Northants last season, is back taking wickets for Yorkshi*e including their current 2nd XI Roses game against *ancashire. There's no number on his shirt so perhaps either as a trialist of sorts, or a fitness favour.
  4. HS scores this season - albeit 1st and 2nd XI friendlies - suggest he's not in bad nick if Cox is rested v Northants: 33*, 45, 91*, 55 (average 112.0) As suggested, the alternative is to either recall/bring in Kimber or Trevaskis and give Handscomb the gloves. Foxes leading averages 2025 from outside the 1st XI: G.Maddy 75.0*, S.Gumbs 60.0, J.Madan 48.3, M.Minhas 38.5, , L.Trevaskis 28.3, J.Dunk 28.0 (*3 not outs)
  5. For those into their cricket podcasts, Ian Holland is the special guest on this week's edition of 'The Analyst Inside Cricket' with Simon Hughes and Simon Mann, talking about all sorts including the recent win in Bristol. Spotify
  6. Another half-century for HS in yesterday's Second XI game against Northamptonshire. Speaking of which, Wrighty seems good for a welcome return after his 3-19 helped run through their top order.
  7. A small whiff of the Metro Cup 2023 semi-final against the same side. Foxes sliding to 33-4 chasing only 126 to win and on that occasion, Handscomb 49* and Mulder 55* batting superbly to see the boys home.
  8. He went off after being struck in the ribs. Now back out again following Green's dismissal.
  9. Dreadful start with the bat, at least we have Mike and Scriven to come in and rescue the situat.........oh.
  10. Pleased that Tom Price, Marchant de Lange & Matt Taylor are all missing for them.
  11. One thing in Hull's favour is that in the opening round of fixtures, Derbyshire's left armer Luis Reece had an absolute field day on the same ground with match figures of 10-97 as they romped home by 9 wickets. Hull was out-bowled by Alex Green in the 2nds the other week so it will be interesting to see who gets the call.
  12. Mixed news on the squad for the visit to Gloucestershire, Josh and Rishi make the trip however Mike (back) and Scriven (abdominal issue) are both ruled out. Kimber somehow keeps his place. Ahmed, Budinger, Cox, A Green, B Green, Handscomb, Hill, Holland, Hull, Kimber, Patel, van Beek, Walker.
  13. Talking about a 4.30pm start with 24 overs left in the day. https://cricket.lancashirecricket.co.uk/news/2025-news/live-blog-lancashire-v-leicestershire-day-four/
  14. Couple of former Foxes involved for Zimbabwe in their current test series in Bangladesh, Nick Welch coming in first drop and Charl Langeveldt the lead bowling coach.
