Absolutely awful player. His stinking attitude was only surpassed when his elder brother became our manager some years later.
I still can't work out how to rank Rodgers, McGivern and Thomas. Shite, shiter and shitest, but in which order??

Some thoughts on this:
- The narrative arc ended at the 2016 title win. Just as important IMO is the longevity he showed for the next 6 years, hitting the 20 goal mark whether we were good or average, highest scoring player in the Prem over 30
- Shame they didn't ask him more about loyalty to Leicester; was sort of implied but more to the story than that
- Too much Rebekah for my liking, others may disagree
Without missing an opp to stick the boot in to the current shit show:
- He was still playing for us this time last year; yet nobody at the club currently was either sought (Vardy didn't want to?) or would agree to it. Either way, that's a disgrace
-
How the **** did we end up with Wes Morgan being interviewed at the City Ground? And what looks like Dave Rennie in the Notts dressing room? I assume because the club refused access to their facilities. Again
- I mainly felt sad towards the end. Sad that structures and culture built by Nigel have been dismantled or decayed.

When Luke Thomas is getting in ahead of you, and that's the right decision, then League One is the ceiling not the floor.

Without that GBH from Tyler Morton he would’ve ended up going Bayern, PSG or Inter..he was THAT good.
Shame.
I may have misremembered but didn’t he get his first ACL the season or two before that challenge?

Im at a stage where Im not really bothered about football at all. I’d rather do many other things, it’s just something I’ve did with my dad since the 90s, after he passed away I kept going as I kind of felt keeping the tradition going and it felt like what he might want me to do (for period of time I enjoyed it). I do often wonder want he would think now, but the game has changed immeasurably for the worse of the past 5 years and not just because of Leicester, I’m think he’d probably rather us go sit in a pub have some food and natter or a good country walk.
RIP to your Dad mate. Remember him how you see fit, surely he wouldn't be wanting to put up with this dross and how the club treats people!
I had previously thought it was getting to middle age which had stunted my passion for football; but on reflection it is how the modern game have over monetised everything. Me and my closest mates (now scattered around the country) set up a WhatsApp group years ago to arrange going to games. This is prob back in League One days (maybe it started as emails, can't remember when WhatsApp was released!!). Although we still meet up we haven't been to a game in years because we can't ever get near the away tickets, and even the home tickets up until recently were like hens teeth, members or not.
I'm not saying the last 10 years are where tickets were exclusively hard to come by; Filbert Street had 10k less seats. But all the barriers put in place now - mobile tickets, passing your ticket on to a friend, bringing somebody with you - it's transformed how accessible football is for a lot of people.
It's no wonder panning around the ground our crowd are full 50+ something supporters on more of a day out than as a nod to identity and friendship. LCFC (and beyond) are at risk of losing a whole generation. And for what? Ticket revenue is so tiny compared to TV and sponsorship revenue.

Aaaayyy,.. nothing wrong with Rugby. 😀
Not my first love, but it's a good day out and an entertaining game/ sport to watch.
I've really tried - I'm from Leicester, live in a rugby supporting area now, Tigers have been far more consistently good then the football team. I just can't get in to it!

You’re hitting the casual football fan stage!
This is what King Power has done to me.
Isn't it sad.
Spoke to a mate who is a Blackburn Rovers fan. Hasn't been to a home game in years, will attend the odd away game to see mates. But is now more invested in local non-league clubs.
As long as I don't start liking rugby, I'll know I haven't totally lost my sanity.-

It’s quite a major thing for a city the size of Leicester to lose its football club, all the jobs that come with it, the community initiatives etc. Unprecedented in fact. To some people it means quite a bit.
Agreed. I am trying not to let my own circumstances cloud what others might be feeling; I'm in my 40s, and am at that stage of life where I've realised you only have a limited amount of energy, and if what you're putting in isn't being respected by the receiving party, it's time to do something else.
But if I was in my early 20s (as I was in the last admin), this would have felt far higher up in my priorities and I would have been very worried.
It's weird but I didn't watch the Leicester game this week, but caught some of the Spurs and Man City games, and got some enjoyment out of them. That would never have been the case in the past.-

We all know deep down that KP want out, but they're snookered by our debts and terrible league position. What comes first? Cut their losses and run, or wait for administration?
Given Top's inability to make assertive decisions in 2022/23 and ever since, I suspect he has his head in the sand about the whole thing. KP family likely know what's coming, but his inaction will continue until his hand is forced, which will most likely be when we run out of cash and head in to administration.

This is one of the most negative and accusatory topics Ive read on FT.
And it still doesn’t go far enough. GET HIM GONE-

Can someone help me out with the theory our appeal is pre-emptive vs the PL appeal? Is this because we think PL will succeed and we hope to reduce the original six, or is it because by appealing we think we'll string any further deduction out beyond this season? Or something else?
We can't appeal any PL induced deduction until we get given it, so that can't be it? -
Form has gone off a cliff, but I think him and Abdul have been victims of our timid / knackered full backs and centre mids with too much on their plate.
Going back to our season under Enzo, you'd have KDH and Wilf providing options when they were doubled up on. Now they are left to do it all on their own, and are clearly frustrated and losing confidence as a result.
First 6 months he was here I genuinely thought we had a mid-table prem winger on our hands. Doesn't look the case anymore, but he's better than what he's producing currently.-

Curacao probably weds / overnight Thurs.

I'd be surprised if BDCR starts given he has travelled in the international window.

A glorious conundrum for a Sunday morning, it’s really difficult to pick just one!
Went for skipp. Most of the others showed glimmers of something - Skipp has nothing. Zilch. And if he can’t get in this team then god help us.
-
A yes from me. And to add to others conclusions, it’s the complete lack of leaders.
Riccy is a great guy but he’s captain by default. Not going to be laying in to people to improve performances. And only plays half the games anyway.
Say Marti calls a ‘leaders’ meeting tomorrow to sort this out - who is in the room?? Winks? Vestegaard? 🤣
They’re lost on the pitch and will only go hiding more given the toxic atmosphere.

I think the statement by Desmond has finished BR, in the short to medium term at least, certainly on these shores. BR's shills in the media are going to have to do some incredible PR over the next couple of years before he's considered a viable option again.
This is what's so delicious about it for me - there is surely no way he gets an EPL job, and his ego won't hack the championship. He'd need to do something pretty special somewhere abroad to even be considered for a top level job in England. Could be time for an international job, although as he can't spend money and enrich his cronies, he'd be unlikely to consider it.

Thomas not even the best Thomas at the club, let alone the best left back
-
I'm more and more of the opinion that the manager (Marti or whoever) can only do so much if the team collectively switch off for a third of the game, as we've seen repeatedly in the last 18 months. And without any leaders, there's nobody holding them to account on the pitch. What I wouldn't give to see Walsh or Taggart laying in to these bastards when they down tools!
It makes it more and more frustrating when Faes et al keep getting games. We're done with these half arsed numpties.-

Another phenomenal sale.
I agree with others, he has been seriously suspect for 2-3 years. But our defence has been a shit show at various times then so nobody will look good in it.
I hope for him this is a new lease of life and he recovers some form. Not if it means Leeds staying up though, they need to get in the bin

Ffs Skipp and Soumaré again! This is 1st class trolling! Honestly can't believe it. Have Skipp and Soumaré ever had a good game together? Ffs
Or separately, next to Messi, in a FIFA all time 11.....no, never.
Time to watch some fairly mediocre championship midfielders with actual desire and willing run rings round our boys.
Shame, as the attack is exciting and I don't think the defence is awful; but the midfield will be bypassed and bring the rest of the team down with them.-

Russell Martin - Confirmed as First Team Manager
in Leicester City Forum
Posted
It feels like we've had more fans of former clubs of his coming on to this forum to point and laugh then we've had before. Maybe I am being overly sensitive!
Little point in perpetuating the negativity; I'm sure even if everyone gives him a chance, his football and comments will have everyone against him before the clocks change.
Ultimately the problems at the club are far deeper than him. Unless there's a serious clear out and a strategy that is deeper than "Ask ChatGPT", it's hard to believe anybody in charge will be able to do much.
