The tall striker made his name at Wimbledon, featuring a number of times for England U21s whilst he was with the Dons, and secured a big-money £7 million move to Newcastle United as a result. His time at St James's Park was blighted somewhat by injuries, seeing him move to Wolves for £2 million, but his fitness suffered similar misfortunes at Molineux, too.

It was a bit of a risk, therefore, when Martin Allen opted to sign the marksman in June 2007. He arrived on a free transfer but it was a signing that didn't really pay off for the Foxes and Allen, with Cort making 15 appearances, seven from the bench, and netting just the one goal.

He'd lost his pace and, seemingly, a bit of desire during his brief stint at the Walkers Stadium and was told to find a new club when Ian Holloway came in as City boss towards the end of 2007. It took him to the lower divisions in Spain, with Marbella, before he returned to England with a largely unsuccessful spell with Norwich City.

The brother of defender Leon, Cort had plenty of promise in his early years but struggled to live up to expectations further down the line.
