He’d likely be in the top 3 highest paid managers in the championship, let alone league 1 😭

Good to see the shuffle at the top has changed things… shock horror Rudkin is still hell bent on running our club into the ground

Wasn’t aware of how he played.

Dave Challinor’s style of play is characterized by a dynamic blend of high-intensity pressing, tactical flexibility, and an expansive, possession-based approach in the final third. A former centre-back himself, his teams are built on solid defensive foundations, aggressive closing down, and disciplined, hard-working midfields. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

    Key Tactical Pillars
    • High Aggression & Pressing: Challinor demands that his teams hunt for the ball. His players—especially midfielders and wing-backs—aggressively jump off their lines every few seconds to prevent opponents from building from the back. [1, 2]
    • Expansive Wing-Backs: Whether deploying a back three or a back four, he utilizes overlapping and high-pressing wing-backs. This allows his sides to crowd the pitch, stretch the opposition defense, and dominate the wide areas. [1, 2]
    • Tactical Adaptability: He is not dogmatic about formations and prefers to pick shapes that maximize his squad's strengths. While he has favored 3-5-2, 3-4-2-1, and 4-3-3 structures, the underlying attacking and pressing principles remain the same. [1, 2, 3, 4]
    • No-Nonsense Accountability: Beyond the tactics, his management style is demanding. He holds players strictly accountable, emphasizing hard work, high standards, and squeezing every ounce of potential out of his squads

    😍😍😍 he just sounds perfect

Pep Lijnders? Probably the best assistant manager currently in world football who has worked for Liverpool and Man City. The **** are you smoking?

It’s rare top assistants walk straight into top management jobs…. I wouldn’t say it’s as wild a statement as you’re making out especially when you factor in he’s a) out of work (granted it’s been about 2 days) and b) he’s been in and around our new sporting director or whatever his title is

I get that. It's just, history tells us, everyone is expecting a massive re-build, but we won't. We'll struggle to off load some, some will want to go, but we won't let them, some will come in on free transfers. It won't be the massive number of new players in some people seem to expect

I guess the difference this time is Top can actually spend money to get players in where as we’ve been hamstrung by ffp the last few years… if nothing else we’ll see how committed he is to the re build/ if he’s still got a pot to piss in this summer

Rowetts backroom team could be interesting as well, as they are also previously linked to Leicester.

Mark Sale (Assistant Head Coach): A key lieutenant who followed Rowett to Burton, Birmingham, Derby, Stoke, Millwall, and Oxford.

    Joe Carnall (Head of Tactical

Insights/Analysis):Worked with Rowett for over eight years, handling performance and tactical analysis.

Dave Carolan (Head of Performance/Physical Performance): Long-term fitness specialist who joined Rowett at Derby, Stoke, and Birmingham.

    Oxford United Football Club +3

    Previous Key Staff (Stoke/Derby/Birmingham):

    Kevin Summerfield: Assistant manager (Birmingham).

    Rory Delap: First-team coach (Stoke).

    Kevin Phillips: First-team coach (Stoke).

    Callum Davidson: First-team coach (Stoke).

    Kevin Poole: Goalkeeper coach (Burton,

    Birmingham, Derby).

    Paul Robinson: Technical coach (Birmingham).

I don’t think any of the managers since Rodgers have really been helped when it comes to bringing in their own back room staff so I can’t imagine Rowett with a 6 month contract will get many in either…  Which for me is part of the problem!

we need a host of new staff members who are all onside with the manager’s philosophies pushing his ideas and not allowing standards to drop… bringing in 1 or 2 we’ll just see this bunch of rodents continue to do what they’ve done for years and down tools before running to Top

just checked out his manager stats all i can say is why ????  he effective has the same stats as Marti possibly worse. I question the logic of having managers who were previously at QPR and Oxford is that the scale of the clubs ambition now?

To be honest i think you couldn't do any worse getting David Nugent for the job we seem to the realm of the ridiculous so how could it be any more ridiculous than the managers we had in recent times ???

I don’t see any negatives on a short term contract… as has been mentioned previously he’s a championship fire fighter and the only ambition we should have at this point in time is staying in the league 🤷🏼‍♂️

  7. Underwhelming, awful, unimaginative…. Blah blah blah! Any manager that can set up a team to actually compete gets the nod from me! If he realises we’re awful at playing out from the back he’ll go long, he’ll set us up so we’re actually semi competent defensively and I’d like to think he won’t take any shit from the usual half arsed crew…. Or am I being a bit too wishful in thinking all of the above? We don’t need a glamorous name to play fancy football we need someone who’ll install a bit of fight

  8. Unfortunately as much as we call for the kids to be played/start you can see why it doesn’t happen… the drop off from Mukasa (a kid himself) to Page was one of many contributing facts to last nights s**t show!

On the plus side Mukasa looks like some player and potentially could be one of a few differences in our favour between going down and staying up

Is anyone stupid enough to agree a deal with us.

Take away the huge pay cheque and pay the average yearly salary and ask any none Leicester fan do you want it?

    99% would say No.

I see no good reason any manager would want us at the present time other than us paying over the odds.

So another PSR fail on the way.

I feel you’ve answered your own question! Massive salary probably paid off within a year….

    Ayew up top,

    haha, fck off.

What is Kingy meant to do?

Was full of hope with Richards coming in that we might not have to see the other 2 strikers again…. Then I hear Kingy referring to him as a wide player who can come on 😔

    Has it?

We are constantly conceding goals and our current number one flaps at everything and doesn't seem to command or communicate. It's a key area if we want to stay up.

We’ve got Begovic who looked solid an Vietes if we need to try something different… for me we desperately need outfield players from back to front before a keeper

  12. As much as I rated him a goalkeeper has to be the lowest of priorities when it comes to what we need! And for that reason it’s nailed on we sign him…. A signing that truly aligns with the king power/Rudkin strategy… pointless a bit like spunking 25m on a 6th choice cm last season lol

    Thats even worse.

We've sold McAteer who was our only other right winger.

Now you want to sell Fatawu.

Leaves the club with no right wingers.

Then split the 30m and buy some shit winger that won't be half as good as Fatawu? Sorry but thats ridiculous.

Fatawu was but a 14m winger at one point and we were able to get him on loan with an option to buy for said amount…. Do I trust the club to

get lucky in finding said gem again? No…. But this is how we’ve got to operate now unfortunately

In the article it states we’ve made him a lucrative offer…. We will be getting bent over by the ffp crew for the next 50 years at this rate! These clowns running our club really are clueless lol
