George Taft has retired from football, only 31. Been playing for Mickleover and beenn in and out of the first team.
I just saw that he'd retired. Felt like I'd just woken up from a coma! Christ, I feel old.

It's likely any player/s we do sign between now and 11pm tomorrow night will be known to some degree by some point today. I don't recall too many complete shocks on deadline day for us. Dyer and Dragovic possibly.
Soyuncu and Benkovic, maybe? I might be remembering wrong.

I'm concerned the "couple" that Cooper insinuated were hopefully close were referring to Asprilla and Ayew as doesn't sound promising. One is a familiar feel of collapsing and another massively underwhelming.
I think the two that slipped by were probably Hozelock and Zaha. Hlozek seemed all but wrapped up before it fell through. I bet that was one of them, at least.
That's not to say I think we'll be signing Asprilla, though!

The only time to panic is when you’re at fosse park, and you’ve gone to let out a cheeky fart, and it backfires, you’re touching cloth and you’re some distance from the toilet, the other half has been reeled in by a curry’s sales person and is tying to sell them a shark hand held small hoover.
Thats a time to panic.
No way! That actually happened to me once! I went to buy a new telly at Curry's. As soon as I walked through the door, I suddenly needed to fart, but I could tell it wasn't normal, and then I remembered I'd had a bad case of the sour apple quickstep a couple of days prior. It apparently had unfinished business. I wasn't all that familiar with all the toilet locations at Fosse Park, but I knew the food court had them... right over the other bastard end. It was a long and lonely desperate waddle over there. I did finally make it there, and I took a big slash. Out my arse. It was touch and go at times, but I'm pleased to say my lucky pants made it through unscathed.

Anyone else think the atmosphere and mentality around the ground could really improve next season due to the backs to the wall nature of what awaits us?
We will likely be fighting relegation with no budget, a new manager and a points deduction. Anything more than 17th by one point will be a bonus.Staying up will be a bonus!

Any idea how much we would have paid Man City to bring him in? Not sure this is as much of an FFP win we might think it is.
Of course it's an FFP win. What difference does the amount we paid Man City make? We've already paid that whether Enzo goes or stays. Am I missing something?
-
I do thank Enzo for getting us back to the PL, but I think this has worked out well for us. We were never going to stay up playing like that, and it was clear Enzo wasn't going to find a plan B. The compensation is a huge bonus, especially when you consider the club would likely be paying him off themselves in a few months, and now there's a chance we can get a replacement who is more pragmatic, and flexible re: style. We'll be very lucky to stay up this coming season, so we really need to get this appointment right. I do have a suspicion Top is obsessed with us being a Lidl Man City - hope to be proven wrong.

That advert was filmed in Shaftesbury in Dorset.
My mind was blown when I learnt this a few years ago. Saw the advert, and it even has a wurzel voiceover. I think it's a gold standard Mandela Effect example. So much so, I vote it should be renamed "the Hovis Effect."

It's because people don't understand the question. This came up a while ago, and it turned out quite a few people thought you were meant to decide whether the manager should stay based on this one, single game alone. Like you had no other information 😂 Please don't ask me why!

Or perhaps if everyone else is constricted ( apart from the usual suspects to whom the rules don’t apply) then the price of players will come down and we won’t be in a position of paying out £30 mill + for garbage like Slimani and Silva
That's what I'm thinking. Everyone's affected, so the market just needs a bit of time to settle and adjust. I expect we'll see clubs spend a lot less for a while, and any club trying to sell a player will have to accept that they're not likely to get what they might once have been offered. The money they do get will go further, though.

91% manager confidence. Unbelievable.
This came up a long while ago, and it turned out there is a surprising amount of people who think you're meant to judge whether you want the manager to stay based on this one game alone - as if you've only got this one game to base your opinion on. I've got no idea why anyone would assume that to be the case, but there you go. That's why you get crazy results like this - crazy people 😜

I'd imagine we're trying to off load Soumare on a permanent, and this will mean we can bring in another.
I don't know for sure, but I doubt Soumare is registered, anyway.

He performed well at times! 13/14 season was very good albeit league 1. 36 games across the season with 22 goal involvements! We'd definitely take that right now.
League 1?!

We are in the Championship , 18 y.o. lightweight kids spotted on You Tube or some phony football stats site will be of no use whatsoever. We have our academy kids for that job. We need experience and physical presence for what will be a formidable battle.
Harry Winks hardly screams physical presence.
I'll be shocked if he turns out to be decent for us. Hope to be shocked!

Not for me. Apart from the fact that he's shite, he'd want a big wage, and I strongly doubt he'd have the right attitude stepping down from a bigger club and from the PL.
I'd much rather we target mainly young players and the odd experienced player if the price is right. Signing players at their peak just makes no sense financially, and we never seem to get those signings right, anyway.
Stinks like a terrible signing to me. Avoid.
