    Everton - don’t care, irrelevant once we aren’t 7th

burnley - we should have been 7th - end of. But that went tits in February with our home form.

i have a wierd idea that we are going to recruit well over the summer and really have a go at top six next season. I can see some of the existing top 6 having issues next season under new management. just feel that a mid July start and Thursday night games will spoil our opportunities re top six. If several of the those have a tough season  then who says we couldn’t have a go at sneaking fourth??

assuming the top six remain uncatchable then we should be targeting  7th which should mean you can have your July start to the season in 2019.

deluded perhaps but I think next season is going to be our best chance for a fair while of achieving something to follow on from 15/16.  come back to me in mid August when the window shuts!

hahahaha 4th. i like your optimism but you're an ostrich if you think that's an actual possibility. most likely going to lose mahrez, also going to be very hard keeping hold of maguire. can't just assume we're going to be able to replace them. could easily wind up pissing 20/30 mil up the wall like we did with slimani and musa.

bearing in mind all of the current top 6 will likely go spending crazy like they always do, which will add further distance between us. add to that everton surely won't be so rubbish next season, they'll be odds on to finish ahead of us. it'd also be deluded to think we're definitely going to finish ahead of west ham and newcastle next season. most likely outcome next season is mid-table mediocrity again, which is fine for KP as they can reap the financial rewards, not particularly thrilling for the fans though, especially when we continue to not take the cups seriously.

the best chance we'll ever have of getting in the champions league again would be to win the europa league, but apparently it's better to have thursday nights off and start in early august instead of mid july. not to mention the potentially brilliant nights we could have in the europa.

Make sure it’s a garden one then mate - despite me thinking you’re a bit of a nob re your response  as I tend to agree with HPF, it’s not worth killing yourself over it  ..........

I didn't specify what kind of bridge it was pal. I may be a bit of a nob but I'd rather be that than "relieved" that we didn't qualify for europe so that we can "concentrate" on the league next season. are you content that we finished 7 points behind burnley after the position that we were in a few months ago? ended up getting done by everton who are nothing short of horrendous.

  3. "kinda relieved we stuffed up europe". the best thing that can ever happen as a fan of a club the size of ours is getting to follow them in europe. the fact that some of our fans are not only not heart broken we didn't qualify for the europa league but genuinely relieved/happy makes me want to chuck myself off a bridge.

I am pretty sure i'm not the only one, but I'm kinda relieved we stuffed up/couldn't be arsed with Europe this time around - I suspect what might be an awkward upcoming season would have been complicated further...

you absolute moron. hate it when fans say things like this. "hope we lose to so and so in the cup so we can concentrate on the league!!!!!!!!!" how can you possibly say with a straight face you'd take mid table mediocrity and no cup runs over fighting relegation and the possibility of a cup final. come july burnley are going to be away at some lithuanian team nobody's ever heard of in europa league qualifying and we're going to be playing port vale in pre season and you're "kinda relieved".

I would like all blue home strip with gold adidas stripes. Maybe a slightly darker blue??

All white away with again slightly darker blue Adidas stripes.

3rd kit black strip with gold.

so just the same three kits we always have these days.

presume this is a joke post, but if not, try thinking for yourself you big sheep.

Hamer is no less effective than Kasper at penalties and overall had a sound game . The casual slagging off on these boards is unmerited and unfair

    Absolutely dispute that.

Some keepers are far better at saving penalties than others.

Bravo saved two penalties in the last round and saved another this round, he also went on a saving spree for Chile at the confederations cup.

Kasper saved two penalties out of 3 in the champions league knockout stage last season.

Can you honestly say with a straight face you fancied our chances in the shootout the same with Hamer in goal as if we had Kasper?

  7. anyone get a look of the stats for our recent shootouts?
lost our last 4 now including cardiff twice and hull.

in our last 4 shootouts the opponents have scored 23/23 penalties.

could be unlucky or could be that we always have useless ****ing keepers in goal when it goes to pens (Weale x2, 90 year old Schwarzer and Hamer tonight)

when was the last time we ****ing won one? we're worse than England
