Why?

Wow. What were you expecting, King Power to sell up the minute we had a protest?
Useless and lazy, again wow.
You do realise, well you clearly don't so I'll rephrase that, you should realise every single person that has achieved ANYTHING at all in terms of making any kind of protest of positive action has not come from the Foxes Trust, has not come Union FS, it has come from a bunch of lads 7-10 lads with families and 9-5 jobs.
I personally contacted Union FS about the state of our club with an ambition to do something about our ownership, their answer was to refer me to that group, that group has been more present on Talk Sport or Radio Leicester than than Union FS or the Foxestrust.
We have tried to contact the BSLB, we have received support from Union FS, nothing from the FoxesTrust.
If we as 7-10 people can organise the things we have, then well established organisations with further reaching social and political connections should have picked up the torch and seen what could be done. They have not, I have no desire to carry on working with a small band or rebels if nothing bigger is going to start running with our idelogy. Yes it's ineffective, it was suppose to show the art of the possible.
The reason Foxestalk is an echo chamber of negativity is because there is nothing to be positive about.
And the reason our actions never gain any traction is people like you don't understand this is something that could drag on for years, not a few months.
Increadible from you tbh, had you down as an intelligent bloke.
And you call me "passive aggressive as ****"... 😂 😂 😂
Look up the lyrics of the song his username is from and maybe you'll understand the mentality some of us have to adversity.

I am simply highlighting what a ridiculous, not to mention, insulting position that is to take. We did not get into this mess because of moaning on an internet forum.
Again, you're saying I've argued something I've not said.
I said the board being crap delivered bad players which led to a toxic atmosphere.
My point is about toxic negative performative bollocks that achieves nothing other than continuing the toxic culture.
Do we now need to stay in a toxic atmosphere?
Are you not a Leicester City fan any more if you don't post about how much you hate Harry Winks (won't create a buyer) the owners (won't magic up a billionaire), Jordan Ayew (doesn't play for us) throughout the summer?

If only the passengers on The Titanic had been more positive, it probably wouldn't have sunk. Its all their fault!
Classic internet response - mocking a point I didn't make. I’ve said the club’s a shambles, and most of the blame sits with the board and players. But relentless fan negativity plays a part too - and elements of this thread proves it
I'm not sure fans hate posting in a Jordan Ayew thread all summer will avoid any icebergs.
There's a difference between holding the club to account and having an addiction to moaning. Our 'fans' are spending a summer adding to a 100+ page hate thread for an ex-player and a 300+ page 'King Power Out' thread that won't generate a new billionaire owner. Same mentality as booing a player coming on as a sub, chanting about murdering Rudkin and going on GB News saying you want us to get relegated because you hate the board. My point remains: the board have overseen failure after failure. The players have performed below their pay grade. As a result, the fan atmosphere is toxic.
Yet it feels to me like:
- the board think it's the players and fans' fault - so don't change
- the players think it's the board and fans' fault - so don't change
- the fans think it's he board and players' fault - so don't change
Rinse and repeat. A culture where nobody recognises fault brings no change, and the downward spiral continues.

If you love the club I can’t see how you can clap and cheer what is the continuation of the same mistakes, ignorance and recklessness that are driving it into the ground. A reset is needed but that needs to be in the running of the club, then good things are more likely to follow.
I've not said to clap and cheer, more not being one of the toxic elements contributing to the club I love.
Meanwhile, in the boardroom:
Quote"If you love the club I can’t see how we can be expected to change the way we run it despite the same lapses in players' effort, and the same negativity from the stands that are dragging it into the ground. A reset is needed, but that needs to be in the attitude of the players and the behaviour of the fans - then good things are more likely to follow.
And in the players' WhatsApp chat:
QuoteIf you love the club I can’t see how you can be expected to change our commitment to it despite the continuation of the same board mismanagement and the same pressure from the stands that are driving it into the ground. A reset is needed, but that needs to be in the running of the club - and in the way supporters treat the team - then good things are more likely to follow.

Yes - we’re shit. The board avoid accountability, plenty of players are bellends and the club is a mess. On top of that, the atmosphere online and in the ground has become properly toxic. I find this really quite sad because the club has pulled me out of some dark places in my life.
For about five years I've thought there are three warring camps at Leicester City:
- the board
- the players
- the fans
Each camp blames the other two and thinks they don’t need to change themselves - it's the other guys' fault. If they changed, we'd be fine. Each mindset feeds the spiral. Every 4 months we sack a manager as a sacrificial lamb, and the three camps continue. I'm not saying each camp is equally to blame - I'd say 50% board, 35% players, 15% fans. The maddening thing is that if any camp improved, the others would too - but no camp is willing to change.
Just look at this place: months/years of posting hate threads on Ayew (103 pages), Winks (171), Rowett (179), Kristiansen (49), King Power (338). Be honest - how much new is being said now? Will posting a 339th page find a billionaire to buy out King Power? Will a 172nd page on Harry Winks find a club to take on his wages. There’s already multiple negative threads about Russell Martin and the poor sod's been in post for about two days.
I’m not saying stop criticising, just that endlessly piling on the same targets creates a circle of toxicity that clearly hinders the club. We’re still Leicester City fans, and we’ve seen plenty of times when we've pulled out of dire situations with a bit of unity. I don't think it will happen when we're just relentlessly moaning - especially about things that can't be changed or players / managers that have already left the club.
This thread will probably die on its arse after a few laughing emojis and snippy replies, and maybe I'm wrong and that's the 'right' way to support the club these days. But personally, I’d rather try to reset the tone more to the club I fell in love with as a child than keep adding pages and pages to the same old hate threads.
Anyone else up for that?

Not sure who we could have appointed with that team. I doubt even Alex Ferguson would have got a tune out of them. The damage was done long before these no-hopers came in. That applies to the whole setup.
We are rancid but so is a lot of the division.
Had a really decent run in and even after picking up barely any points were a couple of results away from staying up.
Nigel Pearson would have comfortably kept us up.

I still reckon it’ll be someone who hasn’t been mentioned yet.
Not suggesting it’ll be anyone better.
Given our recent history that’s what tends to happen. We definitely put names out as a smokescreen. However on this occasion I've got a bad feeling Darren Ferguson was the smokescreen and it's going to be Russell Martin.

McKenna stepping down probably has a baring on our appointment as I’m sure Russell will want to talk to Ipswich and his agent will be touting.
Great if it means he don’t come here but if he is #1 target it just puts everything back until Ipswich decide who they want before saying no to Russell.
Wishful thinking... Russell Martin played for Norwich for about a decade. And no Premier League club with half a brain would touch him

A travesty he never played for England. Even though he was competing with several good midfielders for a place I would put him as arguably th most complete midfielder in the English league in his prime.
I love Muzzy but this is a stretch
He obviously should have played for England but there have been much more complete midfielders in the English league.
At the same time he played, Vieira, Keane, Lampard and Gerrard were all a level above him as complete midfielders.

Whatever we think of his style of play, I’m actually going to throw a bit of positivity out there on Martin’s recruitment.
Looking through his spells at MK Dons, Swansea and Southampton, quite a few of his signings have been quite encouraging, and you can clearly see the thought process behind them in alignment with his philosophy.
At MK Dons for example, Matt O’Reilly, Harry Darling and Scott Twine all came in under his leadership.
He’s signed a few experienced players during his managerial spells, but in terms of quite a few of his younger signings, dare I say it, I’m quite impressed.
He won't be all bad, just like Dave Challinor wouldn't be all good.
Really hope the fans get behind the new boss and give them a fair shake. The toxic atmosphere helps nobody.

Vardy Okazaki
2015-16 really ruined these games for me

Would genuinely be interesting to see how this team would do...
Stolarczyk
Aluko Nelson Gray L.Thomas
Choudhury Braybrooke
Monga Page Alves
Evans
Subs: French, Wilson-Browne, Cartwright, S.Thomas, Briggs, Opoku, Hutchinson

I've been dreading this seemingly inevitable appointment for years, but if he comes I'll get behind him.
Managers who are wanted are often shit and the ones people have initially rejected sometimes go on to be great. Obviously lots who we thought would be shit turned out to be shit (especially recently).
Fingers crossed all my instincts are wrong and he turns out ok.

I live in Oxford and follow Oxford United on social media.
They aren't doing anything spectacular but their posts are all about the coming season - where the training camp will be, announcing friendlies and the new pitch they're laying.
I'd much rather we also have the impression we're preparing for the year ahead rather than posting Simon Grayson's recollections of 32 years ago and Stephy Mavididi's birthday.

It's going to be a very very long summer, especially with the World Cup.
We actually don't want to 'rush'. We need to make the right appointment, so timing is everything.
What if we gave it to a guy who is freely available, yet two days later, a more ideal candidate loses his job at another club.
We are in limbo, but we have to time it right.
It's the same pattern of inaction that has led to a death spiral with 3 relegations in 4 years.
There is a shit load of work to do, and we can't afford to piss around.
Other clubs are appointing managers we could have appointed, leaving us with the dregs.
Other clubs will be agreeing deals with players their manager wants who we could have signed.
We were relegated in April and it's now June. The concept of an appointment being "rushed" is already long gone.
Shall I continue?

Good news, Karl Robinson just became available. He’s finished fourth and eight in League Two at Salford so he’s potentially an upgrade on our last few duds.
While I'd prefer pretty much anyone to Russell Martin, this would feel almost as bleak.

So my take on this
My life is a bit rubbish at the minute, recently lost my mum, disabled dad, wife had a stroke 4 weeks ago, cousin in LRI with stage 4 cancer, so I'm actually looking forward to 2 hrs release from stress, seeing our old favourites having a laugh, my ticket money going to charity, hopefully loros, nice weather,
So shoot me down if you like, but for 2hrs I might smile
Don't worry about what others think. Everything around it has been a circus but I'm sure the afternoon itself will be a nice trip down memory lane.
More importantly - sorry to hear you're going through all that. Sounds too much for a person to process, and I hope you have support in place for yourself (in addition to a deserved break at the football today).
Football can be a great support. Leicester have provided a similar service for me in the past. It's weird to say but one thing I found helpful when I have had a few periods of overwhelm is feeling a shared purpose with a crowd.
Whether happy, sad or laughing, it's therapeutic to share that emotion with thousands of other people - especially when you feel like you're experiencing shit things alone in your 'real' life.
Hope the day goes well and you get a much deserved respite from traumatic events.

Him going and flailing about against Iran and New Zealand would do nothing for his value. It's not like he's a kid, everyone knows what he's about at this stage. It's probably already agreed anyway.
Suspect it will be another loan. Why pay a fee when he'll be free in a year and we have no bargaining power

Watching this just made me sad and wish for those Pearson times based again, before Aiyawatt, Rudkin and a less extent, Vichai, pulled it all apart. Players who cared, crowd invested and passionate. What happened?
The harmonious era when a player was sacked after an alleged race-related brawl with teammates (Wayne Brown) and our manager told fans berating him to **** off and die?
I love the Nigel Pearson era (and want another one!), but we can have selective memories and look back with rose tinted glasses. Ben Marshall podcast made it sound like a pretty terrible culture.
We've always been chaotic, even when we were very very good. Vardy casino incident, youth players with Thai prostitutes, Ulloa and Mahrez on strike...
Fans are much more forgiving of such things when you win on a Saturday.

Toxic club - an inconvenient truth about our fans
in Leicester City Forum
Posted
Personally – I live with depression, and toxic environments hit me fast. I spiral easily. The club and its community have been a massive support for me. This forum is usually my best outlet for that in the summer, and while criticism is fine my point is about relentless negativity. Either about old topics or about just anything about the club (friendlies are wrong, new manager already written off).
For the club - a toxic atmosphere makes recovery harder. How can fans share in a team's success but not think they can influence things at all when the team is struggling?
Last year our away results (17th) were unacceptable, but the home results (22nd) are actually what relegated us. That's not saying it was all on the fans, but a toxic atmosphere makes a bad situation even worse.
Would I take a new owner? Do I wish Jordan Ayew never signed? Do I think Harry Winks is a bellend? Yes, yes, yes.
What will improve if fans spend the summer adding to multiple hundred-plus (and rising) page hate threads about these topics? Absolutely nothing.
My point is we won't magic up a new owner, build a Jordan Ayew-resistant time machine or change Harry Winks' personality by adding a 382nd page to those threads. And neither will adding a 9th thread about not liking the new manager.
This is the last I'll post on the topic for reasons of spiralling that I've mentioned earlier, and obviously people who disagree with me aren't going to change their minds, which is fine.
Cheers everyone and have a nice evening. Great weather and the World Cup's on - happy days!
