Because he's shit at what he does?
Unless of course you regard what he does as talking a good game even when reality says different.
Then he's fxxking class.
I’d go even further and say even his talking a good game doesn’t sound authentic, especially when things get tough. He has a way of deflecting blame from himself onto the players, but in a way that makes it sound like he’s being sympathetic to them.
In terms of just bringing a much needed change of culture to the club, I think he’d be a disaster.

Need to quash this RM talk. If Glover behind it sack him. The club needs to reset and galvanise the support. Appointing RM would kill any possible germination of hope stone dead
Exactly this. If the club read the room then no way would they even consider him. The problem is they rarely ever do.
I know Martin had success in the lower leagues, winning promotion with MK Dons in League 2, but personally I’m sick to death of that style of football.
Also, I’m not able to describe why, but everything Martin ever says, his body language and stroking of his beard every 5 seconds, irritate me and give me the creeps in equal measure.

Not sure what it is about Maddison that’s really annoying when he gets interviewed.
Everyone says he talks well, which I can’t disagree with. But his words always have a fake and hollow feel to me.-

It’s been very difficult for anyone aged around 13 and under to get a Season Ticket for their whole life, especially without spending a fortune on membership and many tickets at individual match day prices.
Putting aside the mess the club is in right now, it’s one of very few positives that a dad/mum and lad/daughter can now get STs, with seats together.
A new generation get the chance to experience regular match day traditions, whatever they will be for each individual family. It hasn’t been well communicated though to many. It’s like they’re doing it reluctantly.

Does anyone know how to access this friends and family referral option? I can't see it in my account, and also can't get through on the ticket phone line. Apparently too many people in the queue....
I was just curious to find out how many were for sale, but can’t find it mentioned or any link to it in my account either.
Also, I’ve had no email or other communication about it at all.-

What?
Free kick nowhere near the corner. Flapped at it with a weaker right hand than Jeremy Beadle and pushed it into the top of the net.
Horrific.-

The zombie clapping for Winks every time he touched the ball has to be the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen at football.
Even weirder though, was one bloke near me, who had joined in the clapping for Winks like a seal waiting for some fish all game, left immediately we conceded, in disgust. Some football fans are beyond parody.

What is the pre match music? been a couple of seasons since I've been (simply cba to make the effort to travel multiple hours for this club)
I always liked Club Foot, first time I heard it at a match I think was when I went to Norwich Away in the early 00s and thought it was a good atmosphere, we had it for a while and thought it worked well with the pre match flames and atmosphere. Gets the crowd up for a fight.
I’d love to be in charge of pre-match music tonight and play Linkin Park’s ‘Numb’ on repeat for 15 minutes.
It would certainly read the room perfectly.

Weirdly, one of my all time favourite episodes.
On the way home from the game yesterday, I felt like I’d been condemned to hell. There is definitely a comforting, therapeutic element to realising you’re not alone there. 🤣

Agree 👍 but I can also see the point made that we aren't a team put together to fight relegation. Bit like Tielemans who can win you a game but gives missing when you're in a scrap.
Fair points.

I can’t believe I was looking at a player like Portsmouth captain, Pack, with envy today.
I watched him closely and he personifies everything we’re not.Constantly organising, calling people out and encouraging. Always up for a fight and never stopped running, battling or talking.
People have been saying it for ages, but it certainly became a realisation for me today.
If you aren’t a superstar but have a heart like him, you give yourself a chance of surviving in The Championship.-

Ruud gave him the right treatment last season yet the club and fans welcomed him back with open arms this season.
I don’t think he’s been welcomed back by the fans with open arms. Certainly not be me.
We don’t pick the team, but when he’s played I’ve wanted him to do well, purely because he’s playing for our team.
He comes across as a massive t**t most of the time and I don’t think anyone will be sad when he’s gone, like most of the others.

Really crap today, the second goal in particular, has a look at the several free men and just decides to make zero effort to put any of them off
He’s often involved in us conceding from corners, carrying that same bewildered look on his face, still looking for his man and the ball after a goal.

Probably get slated, but I really enjoyed the game and the atmosphere yesterday, especially the last 20 mins or so. I realise I still care. We’ve endured a total lack of energy and passion on the pitch and in the stands for the last couple of seasons, but there was something there yesterday, amongst the chaos. Yes, there was some poor quality on show, but some real effort at times and something to get behind. It felt like a throwback to a more authentic experience of football and life, allowing human error, without the sanitised version that has spoilt the game.

Great idea, but think bigger. A premium deal of this, plus a real LCFC sausage roll, a clapper and an honesty flag to keep.
Wave all of that in your seat pre-match, whilst wearing the t-shirt, and you’ll feature on all the club socials into the bargain.-

Just been watching episode 6 of Burnley’s documentary ‘Keeping The Faith’ about Ramsey’s recovery from his knee injury.
Didn’t realise that immediately after his injury, he also dislocated his jaw screaming in pain! 🙈-

I just went to the stadium because I want to bring two old friends to the Swansea match, only to be told there is no outlet for tickets at the stadium. I was given a number to call, only to be told it's only open Monday to Friday. This club can't afford to make ticket purchases so inaccessible.
They could get away with this nonsense when we were selling out every game, but surely not now.
Buying a home ticket is far too complicated if you’re not a ST holder or member. One ticket per supporter number too, if you’re not one of the above.
Why are the club more obsessed with controlling and knowing who is in the ground and making ticket sales as difficult as possible, rather than with selling more tickets with a simpler process?
Is there still a fan engagement officer who should be sorting this kind of thing out?

Still heard some claps 😳
I was waiting in the stadium for someone at the end of the game and didn’t want to look at the players doing their lap of dishonour. Instead, I turned to watch the crowd behind me, consciously looking to see if anyone was clapping them off. There were loads of them! Not just token clapping, but some with great enthusiasm. Hands above their heads really going for it.
Yes I know people can do what they want and it shouldn’t bother anyone what other people do. It just seems very odd behaviour to me, similar to members of a zombie like cult.
Seriously, can anyone explain why people do this after watching that performance? I’m confused.

I’m not convinced that playing any other semi mobile striker or even lump of c̶e̶n̶t̶r̶e̶ b̶a̶c̶k̶ concrete wouldn’t be a better option.
At least that would stand up. Also, put a shirt on a traffic cone for the left back position and we’d have a slightly better chance of staying up.
Concrete and traffic cone to save the season.
I know it’s recent history but now my two most disliked players (on the pitch) in 40 years.

Can't get why he would still be around having the hassle. You would walk wouldn't you.
Same in most of life, with those in positions of power. They hold on to that power until they are forced out, rarely going voluntarily.
Whilst most of us with any sense of self-respect and awareness would walk, as you said, these people seem to have similar traits, which make them think differently.
Look at current world leaders. Lots of narcissists and delusional megalomaniacs, where truth is what they want it to be and someone else is always to blame when things go wrong.
Power and control is their drug, which always blocks out and overrides criticism, self-reflection and the reality of a bad situation.-

Anyone have any ideas on if it’ll make members?
About half of one of the 1st big blocks still available, from the two originally on sale.
2 blocks have been greyed out since the start of sales, so I presume yet to be opened.
So, I’m sure it will get to members, unless some of the allocation gets returned, if that’s possible.

You’re right! It was as a player he helped them get promotion in 2018/19, joining in the winter window 2019. Became the manager fairly early the next season.
