We have to view this game as winnable. They're even worse than us at the minute with next to no games available.

If we are comfortably beaten in this then I think it's Goodnight Vienna.

I'm really not sure what Rowett's track record is with playing inexperienced players but I think he has to given how out of form our experienced players are.

    I think he'll play the following;

    Begovic

    Ricardo Okoli Nelson Thomas

    Winks Skipp

    Fatawu Mukasa Mavididi

    Ayew

and that makes me ****ing weep. Just have to hope he's seen enough of us play or that the likes of Andy King have been honest with him with regards to players like Thomas, Winks and Ayew.

Literally, Thomas should not play. Change to three at the back if necessary....

I think you're missing the point, this is not about being shit.

Personally, I have seen many relegations and many crap Leicester teams, but never did it feel self-inflicted.  Well, Taylor's relegation did, but I blame Taylor for that rather than the club.

Anyway, our current situation has seen us drop from chasing Champion's League to trying to avoid relegation to league one due to a series of self-inflicted cock ups that continue to this day.   The trouble is that no one has been held to account. The decision makers that got us into this mess are still making the decisions today and still getting it wrong.

This is less about us being shit (which is a scandal, given the cost of the squad btw) but more about the ongoing governance of the club.  Whilst they remain in charge the circus continues.

Its football. What you are basically saying is that players being shit on the pitch, the actual product we watch, is fine, as long as it isnt a direct result of the club running being shit, which is totally unacceptable. Surely players being shit is more offensive?

  3. The only way I could really understand this is if the leicester 'regime' was actually a regime like Saudi, or they had just got caught up in the epstein scandal.

Each to their own, but your criticism of the board, surely, is that they are utterly incompetent, rather than some moral failing? As such, do you expect lcfc to be always ran in a competent way? Do you expect us to always have a good team that are never just a bit crap? And if they are crap you won't watch?

Nobody has to be a fan, and nobody has to justify why they are a fan, I am just finding it hard to distinguish between actual fans of the club and glory hunters that fans always accuse others of.

Songs at Birmingham 'where were you when you were shit!' (A strange song, they still are shit!) But could a lot of those fans just said, well, for many years I had ideological differences with the board, being in league one was related but incidental? Who is buying that!

Now you have been a fan for 33 years, so this doesn't really apply to you, but it must apply to a large group, mustn't it?

But having been a fan for 33 years, I know you have seen all sorts of utter incompetence. Easily on a par with this. So im not sure why you are getting your knickers in a twist so much about this!

Like I say, being a fan for so long, im sure its a lot of factors, with the current ownership being the staw breaking the camels back.

Im just not buying it from most.

For me personally, king power don't have to sell. They just need to sort their shit out. If they cant, then they should sell.

I 100% stand by the fact that Nguhoma and Dowman are streets ahead of Monga in terms of ability, as much as we would like it to be different It's just the evidence of my eyes on having seen them play.

  5. A load of people on this site rightly criticise the running of the club, particularly around finances.

Then you get a load of posts saying '£30m, snap their hand off'

    Love it!

I think Ayew was left on as he’s the only forward we have that can hold the ball up and provide an out ball.

He’s dog muck but so is the other option

I mean, I see what you are saying about why he was left on...  and if he had those attributes, there might have been an argument for it.

If not for the red card, we would have won the game 2-0.

Can't put it on King today. Generated 2 xG, red card in 15 mins, Ayew missed a pen.

Its a shame this happened on his first day as caretaker. Because now the narrative has been set.

If you were manager, after the sending off, what change would you have made? For me, due to lack of pace, Ayew straight off. If a manager cant see that, they are rubbish.

Can see us looking at Osmajic on loan on deadline day as Preston want rid and I believe we've been interested in the past, followed by him being banned for the rest of the season lol

I think i would actually stop going...

Its modern Man City syndrome. If they are good then the better clubs should be hoovering them up, even if they end up wasting away on the bench.

James is still young, and he's done well but not hit the heights or consistency that KDH did for us in the Championship. But he's one of the first names on the teamsheet and no matter what he will be learning from his time here.

Wouldn't it be lovely to be saying that he is the perfect choice to spearhead the next gen Leicester city, where we focus on bringing academy players through and youth, rather than dross like Ayew, and football tribute acts like Riccy P has become.

But no - he's too good.

Buy him, make him captain, and give him the responsibility to spearhead our future on the pitch. This will then pave the way for a big money move for him in a few years where he can kick on the rest of his career.

Also, as a team, if you want to be better, you need some players who are better than most you already have!

He deserves better than us and, if true he himself can't turn the chance to work with a manager that knows what he's doing and improves players. He would do well there.

For us, it'll be devastating. When he leaves, we have no one to replace him. No one to carry this bunch of unlikeable and soggy wet wipes through the season.

Do other clubs have fans who point out players 'who are too good for them' and should leave for there own betterment?

It does come up from time to time.. a lot when players are linked to us

'Why on earth would he sign for us?'

    I find it strange.

How many times has he played for Leicester?

He joined in Feb 2023 and from what i can see there are less than 15 appearances for us. He quickly fell out of favour during the relegation season. Smith preferred Faes and Cags to him. Even Brendan started playing Amartey again over him. Never featured during the Enzo season. So in nearly 2 years he's nearly cost in xfer fee along 1 million per match.

I was hoping he was going to be great.

I don't know how many appearances it was in for him, but I think we were away at Brentford and the song '6ft ****ing 6, made of ****ing bricks' and I turned to my son and said 'the only part of him made of bricks are his feet!' I had seen enough! 😄 🤣

These stats are alarming but they do need a bit of context around them. Mart changed the system recently to a midblock (though we still conceded our goal by having a stupidly high line), and that system deliberately does not press as high up the pitch so should involve less running around overall. That said, a mid block should still engage the opposition once they are in the middle of the park, and the sprinting stats are damning there. However, here are even more stats that back-up what the eye test already tells us:

    Stats-26.jpg

But just for reference, during the season we won the Premier League:

    • Sky Sports shows that no Leicester players were in the top 10 for total distance at that stage of the season.

    • Marc Albrighton was Leicester’s top distance runner at that point: 254.19 km (19th overall).

    Stats-15.png

Here are the distance run per 90 stats and you can see that though we did run a lot more that season, we weren't top of the league for it. But it does show you that when we defended, the work rate of Okazaki, Albrighton and Kante was something to behold and on the break the searing pace of Vardy and Mahrez meant we covered the hard yards.

So overall even though we might not be playing a high pressing system, we aren't working hard enough to engage in the areas we choose to do so, and it's no reason we are unable to boss a game as a result.

The problem i have is this: not being able to have two good halves, errors leading to goals, no passing options and constantly under pressure when receiving the ball, the opposition seemingly in acres of space when they recieve the ball, all indicate a lack of fitness.

If our running stats are low through tactics, we should have plenty in the tank for the last 20 to 30 mins of games compared to the opposition, yet the opposition, who have ran further, with more sprints, look to have more energy left.

Skipp yesterday got the ball (second half) in midfield and was quickly caught up and closed down from an opposition player running from behind. Whenever their midfielders got the ball ahead of our players, they just seem to run away from them.

The fact we aren't in the bottom 6 is due to having genuine quality for this division.

If I was taking over this team, I would be doing a deep dive on fitness levels and instigating a high level fitness regime. Non negotiable.
