  1. No chance he'd go to Blackpool. If he comes back to League 1 (unlikely) I'd be pretty damn sure it would be back to us for a full season with a recall built in (our manager has been speaking with your lot about him coming back). But saying that, there's pretty much no chance he'll be back on loan to League 1. If he does go on loan, it will be to a reasonable Championship team that will be challenging (I'm thinking someone like Fulham or Reading). Got a fair chance of being a key part of your first team though as well, and wouldn't be surprised if he gets 10-15+ Prem games next season. Would love him back here, he seemed to enjoy it.
  2. Told you all Unfortunately for us means pretty much zero chance of him coming back on loan to us. But very proud that he played for MK. We are a brilliant club to send promising young players to and get the best from them (Adobe, Grigg, Lewis Baker, Patrick Bamford) and our academy is decent for L1 (Alli, Sheyi Ojo, Brendan Galloway, Sam Baldock, Danso etc all playing/played in the Prem or Bundesliga). Hope he smashes it next season.
  3. He seems comfortable in any attacking midfield role, or on either side of a front 3. He's been allowed a fair amount of freedom to roam during games, but typically he's left sided, taking on full backs and cutting in. Looks like he's said his goodbyes today and unlikely we'll see him again next season, if that's the case then all the best to him.
  4. Harvey was named in the EFL Team of the Week today - that includes all of the EFL leagues including the Championship (although for some reason they've put him as a lone striker, which is bizarre). As an MK supporter, I would say that he isn't quite at Alli's level in terms of when he played for us, but then again I doubt anyone ever will be again - with Alli we practically had a ready made Premier League player playing for us for a couple of seasons. Alli was a freak of nature in how good he was at his age and our level. But Harvey is very, very good. He makes league one defenders look like non-league players. He was superb when he started with us earlier in the year, but even I can see an improvement in his time with us - his long range passing/long balls have been better in the last few games compared to when he started, and that was his only weakness, hence why I think our manager is right in saying a full season with us on loan would benefit him if he's getting 40-45 games with us. You have a really talented player in Harvey Barnes. We've had lots of good loanees over the last few seasons but Harvey is technically better than all of them for his age. If I could compare him to any current Prem player, it would probably been Son for Tottenham in his style of play and position. I'll stop arse licking now, you get the point.
  5. I was at the Walsall game earlier and saw Harvey score his last goal for us. He was excellent once again - he also got an assist for our first goal with a quality lofted pass - http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/competitions/league-one/10858213/walsall-1-4-mk-dons He's number 18 - assist for the first goal and also scores the last goal. His goal just shows perfectly what Harvey is all about, hard working and really fought for it. All of our supporters at the game were singing "Harvey Barnes, we want you to stay" towards the end. Our manager once again reiterated that he is speaking to Harvey and a few people at Leicester next week to try and get Harvey back here next season, his reasoning being that he can pretty much guarantee Harvey will get 40-45 first team games here next year. Fingers crossed. If he does return to your club, then I wish him the best of luck and will definitely be keeping an eye on his career as he develops. He is a special talent and in the running for our Player of the Year. Just hope he isn't sat around on your bench for most of next season, he needs to keep playing at a first team level whether thats with Leicester, on loan to a Championship club or back with us again. Someone earlier in the thread wasn't sure what position he plays - for us he has generally played on the wing/either side of a front 3, but he seems comfortable anywhere in midfield. Good luck to him.
  6. Our manager (Robbie Neilson - also ex-Leicester) has said he is meeting with your lot next week to try and secure Harvey next season. Guess his reasoning is that he is near enough guaranteed to start every game here, instead of possibly being on the bench a lot more in the Championship. We are aiming to win the league next season according to Neilson and Harvey would be a real contribution towards that. Personally don't think we have a chance of seeing him back here, but I guess with Neilson's Leicester connection it's worth a go.
  7. Ed Upson, we signed him from Millwall last summer. He's been one of our better players this season. Barnes has been our best player overall since signing in January. Our manager (Robbie Neilson) has apparently already been talking to your lot about getting Harvey back next season for at least a half season loan. Personally think we've got no chance, although we should be in the mix for promotion back to the Championship again.
  8. *sigh* almost a weekly update from me now. Scored again tonight. Excellent again. If you get a chance to see his goal, a real piece of class, precision curling effort from the edge of the box against Charlton. He really is a special talent. Can we have him next season again, please?
  9. He's played in several attacking midfield roles for us - mostly left wing, but has played right wing too and today played effectively as a central attacking midfielder for the first time. Really he can fit in anywhere in an attacking role behind a central striker. Personally, I think he's most effective as a left winger taking on defenders and cutting in, taking a shot or laying off to team mates - at this level he has been devastating certain teams - in particular against Peterborough and Northampton he had their full backs in his pocket the entire game. He's too good for us really. He will easily make the step up next season, whether that's with Leicester or on loan to a Championship team. I'll be keeping an eye on him for sure.
  10. Scored again today and played brilliantly as is the norm for Harvey now. Unbelievable to think he is only 19, he has a good footballing brain. As for comparisons with a certain England international, too early to tell but he has a lot of qualities that Dele showed here - in the same way that Harvey looks a far more rounded and superior player than others with much more experience than him.
  11. MK Dons supporter in peace. Not here for any stimulating debates over the ethics of our club, just here to talk about Harvey Barnes who is on loan with us from yourselves. What an impressive young player Harvey is. I've seen him play all of his games with us barring one, and I have no hesitation in saying that he is destined for great things. He is clearly a class above the majority of players at this level, and any time he has the ball at his feet he's very exciting to watch. Decent pace, skillful and has an eye for a pass. His biggest strength in my opinion is playing on either wing and cutting inside. I've lost count of the amount of times I've seen Harvey take on one or two defenders on the wing, beat them with pace or trickery and either have an attempt himself or lay the ball off for a team-mate. His first touch is excellent. I've watched him beat experienced League 1 defenders with ease. Went to our game v Port Vale yesterday and on two separate occasions Harvey beat two defenders by himself, once by driving past them with his pace and once with a neat bit of trickery to get between the two of them. Would love for us to sign him permanently but don't think there's any chance of that. I'd go so far as to say, since signing on loan he has been our best player this season. Really hope he gets the chance he deserves with Leicester and becomes a regular - potentially a future England senior international.
