  1. Over the last few years I’ve posted about what would be the box office appointment at the time based on managers we have been linked with.

when maresca left, the box office link was sarri.

more recently the box office link was Southgate.

now the box office link is Skubala.

    that says it all.

having said that, I think Skubala is great and would take him. But it ain’t happening.

Out of the the names linked i would prefer it to be big dick or Fuchs. No my head is not in the gutter.

challinor or Skubala would be my top choices but can’t see either happening.

Feel for the lad tbh as being thrust into this pile of crap is unfair on any youngster - all of the youngsters are struggling and it’s because the base of the team is so weak - normally blooding youngsters into a team with a strong spine and leadership is less risky but these lads are being asked to jobs that there not ready for. Is he good enough I am not so sure but to be a centre half so young when he has not physically matured is tough. For me I would rest him , dump Okoli completely who is a car crash and build the spine with Vesty and Lascelles !

I was having a similar conversation on the way home yesterday. I was saying that if he was next to any of our centre backs from

the last ten years, notably Huth, Morgan, Maguire and Evans, they’d have been talking him through the game and helping him, and he would be twice the player.

what chance has he got at the moment?

had a poor game yesterday, but I’m not mad at him. We need to be patient with the young ones, it’s a bad situation for them.

He looked like a fish out of water when he played from memory.

It was questionable when we purchased him.

However that said, he made 1 start and 3 subs appearances, totalling 108 minutes.

Harsh to make a call on him in that time.

However the shot on 43 seconds maybe sums it up

During that one start he was the best player on the pitch, I was fuming when he got hooked. He actuat tried his heart out and had energy, but he was always gonna stand out because we were so poor.

I saw on the bookies that Ralph Hasenhuttl was favourite that can’t be realistic at all??

I don’t think anyone, including the board know what’s going on tbh.

Big Ralph is the bookies favourite, yet there’s articles claiming Dyche’s odds have slashed (they haven’t), that NP wants it, and last week Southgate was very short odds.

400 million shares at a sell off price of 1p each, 4 mil divided by 32,000 people, £125 each. Doable

Add the remaining cost of Rudkins contract to that, still completely doable, just need to make sure we do it properly and get rid of the cnut at the same time

The risk here is a few get picked out and banned

it needs something that you can’t be banned for yet will embarrass the club

Eg if Norwich score everyone waves white hankies to indicate the teams surrender. Nobody can be ejected for that. And basing round a goal it has tv attention

    Yeah this could run.

has to be white Hankies though.

Rowett mentioned something about the club making an ambitious appointment

Yeah which is weird with the Southgate links.

Im not a Southgate fan, but he’s much bigger than us. It really would be a shock appointment, and where we are now, I would definitely take him.

It would have something of the Rodgers appointment about it.

We hired fairly cheaply and low key and whilst some see puel as a success, it wasn’t really.

We then went all out for a manager who was seen as the right on at the time, and a coup for us. Spent good money on “the right man”.

I absolutely can’t stand Brendan Rodgers like most, but I’m happy to admit I was very happy and impressed in the early days.

Southgate does have a reputation and a presence. The players liked him and listened. Whilst his football wasn’t great, he sorted the culture out in the England camp. He works well with young players and seagrave may fulfil its potential with him at the helm.

Fk, I’m actually talking myself into backing this appointment.

  8. Just to be clear, I’m not overly impressed with the Gerrard links, and he wouldn’t be my choice.

    BUT

I do think he would be a better appointment than Martin.

My main box that needed ticking for our next manager was “Not Russell Martin”

I would have similar worries to many about it being gerrard. But one little bit of hope/positivity is that when he took the rangers job they were a mess. I watched a video and read some stuff where he was really getting into them and making them/teaching them to press and run.

I think that is an element that we desperately need. I feel like if we were a bit more energetic, showed a bit of hunger and fight despite lacking quality, it would help.
