The higher ups at the club want possession based football. That's not going to change and the track record suggests that rowett isnt going to provide that and have voted no.
Realistically can anyone else see him being a pearson type?
Give him a year or 2, put a bit of grit back into the displays while we promote the youngsters and shop in the loan/free/cheaper markets and steady our finances to go again?

Not exactly, but from most of what I read here about him all your troubles should have been resolved now that he isn't playing for LCFC anymore (quod non!)
It's always easy to find a scapegoat, but it looks like you're going to have to find a new one (and have found one already in Okoli or L. Thomas ...) to blame for a pending relegation.
I don't think anyone has ever pretended that faes was the only problem in the squad.
He received harsher criticism than most because he seems to believe he's prime puyol, comes across as he is bigger than the club and instead of learning from mistakes or showing an ounce of humility, decided to cup his ears at his own fans when he actually scored a goal instead of being the reason we conceded one.

Right I’ve just woken up to head to work, mums been in surgery and child is teething. Anyone fancy summarising what’s going on, or providing a bullet to cure my headache? I’ve seen the words Pascal Plancque and I don’t know if I’m hallucinating

Again, this is also true, but you could see we were on an upwards trajectory whereas with Arsenal, **** knows where they’re going anytime soon.
Championship most likely

FFP was relaxed this year because of COVID, so there's less pressure to meet revenues with wages / spend. See PSG and them signing everyone under the sun.
Also what may well be likely is that we are front loading sales from next season. IE expect fewer signings less season but one more this. If Fofana was not injured, I think we would have signed Vestergaard or Tarkowski next season anyway. Now we might not do that, although Tark will be available on a free...
I am also 99% sure this is Tielemans last season for the club, so that will be a decent incoming fee next summer.
Regarding tarks, i think that will depend on evans' fitness. He had a few knocks last season and currently injured again.

Psg or man city.. No one else can afford it.
Unless he really likes walkers crisps.

Wonder if Evans is crocked? Which is why we might be looking at bringing a defender in? No sign of his so far this pre-season.
Even if he is fully fit currently, he missed a few games last season, we struggle when hes out and given his age, last season is probably not a one off.

I get the idea but unless the RW is actually world class quality, like a 10 g/ 10a (in the league at least) then i think we’ll struggle for creativity and getting the ball to the attacking players.
Soumare from what ive read is a ball carrier, tielemans deep lying playmaker.
I mentioned something similar, not saying that will be the plan as i know naff all but it wouldnt surprise me.
-
I think that if we were to sell him we would not replace like for like.
I wonder whether it would signal another system change.. 4 3 3.
We have ndidi for the holding role.
Tielemans is obviously first name on the teamsheet but should we confirm soumare i can see them both playing box to box type roles.
This would also give us praet Mendy and kdh as rotation options.
So the madders money could be used to add to the wing/inside forward kitty.
-
-
Shame his wages would be ridiculous as he would be a fantastic rotation option for both madders and barnes rather than straight up competition for one of them.

Courtinho replaces Perez
Eduoard would take Gray!s place as he was part of our squad this season
Gosens replaces Fuchs
Soumare replaces Choudhury
Daka replaces Mendy as not required
Tarkowski replaces Morgan
Simple
Trincao would have to be accommodated, but I still think there is room.
In this scenario trincao takes unders squad place no?

Iheanacho has been a revelation this season and reminded us of the player we hoped we had bought. I genuinely hope it continues.
But as i reflect im beginning to wonder if he will be the same player next season? hear me out before you grab the pitchforks guys.
He has done an interview stating that the fans booing him severely dented his confidence. To bring that up now it must still be playing on his mind at times.
I think his fine form this season has been because he hasnt had that pressure. He has benefitted from no fans, think how the opposite is true of players like vardy.
Now next season will he be able to carry on where he left off? The problem with that is against spurs and arguably the cup final, he was largely below par (compared to the other games in this run)
The fans cheering him from day one again may boost him to continue his otherwise great run but if he doesnt hit the ground running, how long before certain fans begin to get frustrated with him again or he gets inside his own head?
Call me a pessimist if you like but im hoping to put my hands up this time next year and say i was worrying about nothing. All hail seniorman!

...Fofana and Soyuncu do not get a working partnership unless the are allowed to play together and find their balance!!!
Evans injury at the moment is a big red flag and Soyuncu is so much better in a back four and constantly placing him in a three, helps no one.
I think they will play together plenty, 4th cb depending, i just think itll be mostly cups we see that.
If evans is fit he starts as far as brendan is concerned.

That is how you integrate young players into the team. As long as he makes the right progress he will get more starts. Barcelona have a lot of good players and Trincao must know he has to be patient.
A lot of those games came earlier in the season too. Koeman changed the tactics when drifting midseason and trincao has been a casualty of that.

They obviously did value Maguire at that as that's what Man Utd had to end up paying to speak to him.
If he doesn't sign a new contract then when the time does come to replace him it's going to be even harder as the £40m he cost will have went up in smoke along with the potential additional £20-40m that you could get for him this summer with a £60-80m transfer fee.
The club ain't daft, they are not going to risk any big asset running down their contract and walking out the club for pennies or worst of all nothing.
Actually with maguire i believe they didnt want to sell and stuck a price on his head no one was stupid enough to pay. By the time it hits that region we become mugs for turning it down. Which is exactly what i think they do with tielemans.
I agree the price i mentioned was ludicrous, it was plucked out of thin air. But if you believe we could get 80mil it probably would be a rough starting figure in negotiations.
Either way you've taken this away from the point i made in my first post, i don't see him going anywhere this summer, i believe the rumours are nothing but agent talk and he signs an extension this summer.
I have also never implied anyone running the club is a mug 👍

No one is offering £100m for him and I'd be very surprised if that's what the club valued him at given he has two years to go on his deal. Add in the fact that the transfer market has changed since pre-covid and it's even more unlikely.
Please don't hold up Maguire as a benchmark as that was a complete misnomer of a fee as has been proven since.
I dont think the club really valued maguire at 80 tbh. Im saying that the management know how important he is and have already stated they hope to keep everyone this year so will put a ludicrous price on his head.
We also do not have a replacement within the club already like we have with others, how much do you think itd cost us to bring in someone similar of the required quality? That plays a factor too.
-
I just dont see him leaving this summer.. Hes moved up once and got burnt (monaco)
Thats not to say he cant make the step up because we all know he could but he knows the grass isnt always greener.
He seems like an intelligent lad.
Couple that with him finding his best form by consistently playing (admitted by himself and rodgers).
In short. Hes won a trophy this season, guaranteed to be first name on the team sheet, by all accounts happy and settled, is playing european football (ok its not champs league) and the first time we've heard a rumour he might be off is after a contract extension has been rumoured?
We wouldnt accept less than 100mil either, hes probably our most important cog.

Foxes all time 11, using 11 players from 11 different countries.
