  1. Doesn't say does it. Bizzare. I don't get it. I can't see Steele just leaving tbh why would he? Have to be another county come in or a pay off. Griffiths the same
  2. No quibbles about Afghans signing becoming a very good side and give it every thing. I thought Naveen was brilliant last year after a difficult start. I'm more worried about the UK based players we sign on long contracts and some then don't even play.
  3. I think.he could be realistic. Mulder is good, to good now has a test bowling average of 21 so I think he will be playing Test Cricket for some time.
  4. David Wiese has no county and wants to carry on playing. 36 but really fit and tbh plenty of players still making a big impact in county cricket that are older than that. He can play all forms. Would be an overseas player. We have alot of young guys so I think a bit of experience is fine.
  5. So Harris offer is pretty good then
  6. No to be honest I don't. You never even hear rumours?
  7. 150 k a year for two years. Not going to get a better offer than that in the current climate. Guaranteed 300k plus what ever he picks up in Oz. Not many offers like that these days
  8. 150 k a year is alot. Way out of our league if true. No money in county cricket so no point in offering players money that will bankrupt you.
  9. I think we have been much better this year. Seam bowling still very poor, if we can afford recruits I'd be looking there.
  10. Hill had a great season but has a career average of under 30 in all formats, we should offer him a 3 year deal but can't see to many others coming in. I think he has had a great season by the way, not knocking him.
  11. Now his out he is on a full time contract
  12. Looks better than Bates who appears to have his bat behind his pad then the occasional waft at the ball which wouldn't go anywhere if he hit it.
  13. Yep pretty odd hey. I actually think Sekande could be OK with more overs in his legs and a proper pre season even today after yesterday's overs he seemed 5 mph quicker. Richard Rae seems to have an agenda against him tbh. Bowled better than Mike and Barnes in this innings I could be be wrong. I'd give him a preseason then see how he looks. Not alot to loose. Davies not a bad bowler but has he ever had an injury free season? I don't think so. We could have played a second spinner rather than four seamers, the young leggie offers an alternative.
  14. I heard some but not alot. Pigeon was loud. I heard them talking about Davies not being fit and can't bowl enough overs in red ball to be considered for selection. Griffiths can look for another club? Looking at an overseas bowler for next season. But couldn't here who. That may even have been Worcester!!!! Worcester commentary said Mike was quicker than he thought but sprayed it. About it. Alex Evans isn't prolific in club cricket so CC a big step up (my view that not theirs)
  15. He is on paternity leave I believe. I like Patel. But if Evans was dropped its harsh tbh. Considering some of the shite players who have never been dropped down the years
  16. Well I wasn't happy with the opening bowling but what an incredible win!!!! Mike tbf great spell. Great effort well done. Been some real positives this year. Still need a fast bowler
  17. I think even at my age I could still bowl a more threatening spell than this. Awful first 10 overs. At least 3 balls an over down the leg. Sekanda now bowling medium pace rubbish down the leg. Woeful. Must be a priority. One decent overseas quick bowler for the season
  18. Is it that bad. Arse. Working in the South today OK here, but we are not playing here!!!! Never rains when your getting battered
  19. Got an even money chance I reckon. Went today. Crowd was poor. Nice enough people. Few of Barnes LBWs looked close and one of Wright's. Problem is we have the umpires backs up
  20. Has any body been watching "You guys are History" on sky? Got me to thinking just how few black cricketers there are now in the county system, and indeed locally. When I started playing in the 70s their were so many Caribbean sides in the Midlands, Leicester, Birmingham and Notts. Had some fantastic times including touring with the Barbados Overseas Cricket Asociation based in the Kent/London border. So many guys with Caribbean heritage like Daffy and Devon, Roland Butcher, Monty Lynch Gladstone Small, Dean Hedley etc played county cricket and then International cricket. Remember those tests against the West Indies. Great atmosphere. Cricket is duller without that enthusiasm. All the counties seemed to have a windies quick, we had Andy Roberts. While cricket is so popular with the South Asian communities over the years it seems we have lost this link with the Caribbean. Really sad. I hope Ebony Rainford Brent's initiative can re light that interest.
  21. Great guy is Daffy. Top player.
  22. I didn't know that
  23. It is a very poor surface.
  24. No. That's our biggest issue. Need to lose 7 or 8
  25. I think they are in worse shape than we are to be honest. If we can win this. If! Then beat at least one more it's measured progress! I know that's not saying much but something to hold on to.
