I'll consider it if there's a half decent place. I feel that I've missed out as I was ready to buy around Jan-March '20 last year, @ around the 220k mark but they've all been pushed up by 10-20k now so need to fork out more money that I wasn't planning on getting.. Checking Right move several times, hoping for the right one is also depressing!

Hi all. Well, been snooping around Braunstone and two decent places came up, both sold in a few days. Interested in another property and seller said that they received so many calls , had to be taken off the market on the same day. They deliberately set a lower price to attract the initial interest and had about 25 viewers over the weekend. All around the 220-230k price range. No reduction in demand here , :-(
  3. I still think many of these crimes are not random thankfully. If you're in the wrong crowd, expect to be bitten. Sure if a huge fight happens outside your door regularly, it's worrying or am I being too naive?

Article in the Telegraph. Of course people are asking for a SD holiday extension, which may come, but there is more to it than that I suspect. I think reality may well soon start to bite. Data on collapsed sales. Different take rather than just comparing house prices only. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/property/uk/property-market-nears-crisis-number-collapsed-sales-soars/

Those making offers, are you offering below or at asking prices? Or even above? I'm sure it'll work itself out. Re Barnsley being a shithole? At least it's your shithole , that's what matters the most cos it's your place. Good luck to all, buying, selling and moving.

Hi all. Depressing article generally today but last paragraph about house prices suggest that a decline is certain across different think tanks. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2021/jan/01/uk-economic-outlook-for-2021-covid-surge-deepens-the-gloom "Despite the worst recession in three centuries, house prices hit a six-year high at the end of 2020 as people rushed to use the tax break and many re-evaluated their living arrangements during lockdown. However, mortgage lenders believe a sharp decline is coming. Halifax, Britain’s biggest mortgage lender, e

Is there a source for this? As in, what profession is your mate in? I'd like to let others know but could do with a source! Several articles mentioned today about prices cooling down next year and this frenzy is likely to normalise soon, again. Good news for first time buyers like me.
  8. Routines are key. Not just for kids but adults also. Agree with the poster about finding a purpose, and reading. I recently went to the local charity shops and picked some interesting books and that takes up time. It's a nice feeling when reading a book and feeling tired and going to sleep but appreciate if reading isn't a strong point, it might not work. Relaxing YouTube sounds, not music could help. What's your diet like? Mainly junk or healthier? With all thst watching, it's more likely to be junk but I could be wrong which would make you feel more like crap. Watching hours of Y
  9. Agreed and you're right about the complacent part. 5-10pm isn't short though?? Or is it! Again. Hopefully, you all are negative but must be worrying nevertheless. God bless.
  10. Hope it's a negative for you and family. Bad call though inviting people over even in the same tier/ road especially if they're working in a front line sector such as a care assistant like you? I haven't seen or visited my family for nearly 5 months even though we're an hour or so away which makes me feel like crap. "It's been a shit year. Knew it'd end in tiers!"

Thinking near the police station area so yeah, would be near Shakespeare drive. Any areas there that you *wouldn't* recommend for a young family or is it generally Ok? Thanks very much.

Out of interest guys, what's the area in Braunstone town like? Thinking near the police station? Homes there seem nice and kept to a good standard from the outside. Would love your thoughts as prices there seem quite decent compared to other parts. Thanks.

Article's Saying prices expected to drop a little and this bubble gonna burst. I'm hoping to find a place to buy in the next few months and hoping prices return to normal as I'm a first time buyer and looking for a place around the 200k mark but can't keep up with the prices. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/leicester-news/leicestershires-property-bubble-burst-early-4803115

Driving around, seeing more 'To Let' signs around than before. Landlords struggling to get tenants possibly with uni students going back, etc... Also, seeing a few more landlords selling up on RightMove . Here's hoping for a return to normal prices pre lockdown. Unsure with this brexit mess, new mutant covid , unemployment etc.. what this will do to house prices, which are just going up and up.
