EM has said today that NO new in-comings until their are out-goings.  So the Club are now in Rudkin’s hands.  13 days to reclaim some credibility…….

People on here can be told a thousand times why these highly paid players will not leave and they still don't get it.

  2. Football being football , managers average about eight months in a job , Soumare might think he can outlast Maresca and this will have been discussed between him and his agent. Praet has outlasted Rodgers and he and Vestergaard are back in the fold. Unlike them Soumare has got plenty of time.

He's done two seasons at Man City, 2020/21 and 22/23.

In both seasons he ran the development squads, Taylor Harwood Bellis played 9 games under him in 2020/21 before going on loan to Blackburn until the end of the season.

Doyle played 14 games at City under Enzo.

Don't let facts get in the way lol

    I have apologised, see above.

Key to this will be Maresca.  Didnt this player  play for him when he was Man Citys Under 21 manager?    I agree the premiership is a strong draw but the player himself will know Maresca so that could be key.

Maresca was only at Man.City for twelve months so most of their academy players are unlikely to have been influenced much by him , Callum Doyle not at all , till now.

  5. It looks like Bouba will spend the next couple of years picking up 6 or 7 million for doing very little. Few clubs will match his salary , either because they can't afford it or it will break their own salary regime. If we subsidise his pay , we can loan him . I can see the Thais baulking at paying out millions for two years for a player who will then be valueless. He could join the ground maintenance gang I suppose.

  6. Our record of selling unwanted players , bar those who are obviously attractive like Maddison and Barnes , suggests that Enzo will have a number of idle players , that is not good. He must find a way of using the players he doesn't fancy at the moment because we don't want anymore Rodgers -Vestergaard situations. Team togertheness will be vital this season.

I have to say you're spot on there.

Also, doesn't have the sheer will to run back and challenge or re establish his position

With him and Youri in the middle of the park at the end of last season you could drive a coach and horses through our midfield at times - Both were shocking in my view

All this will be noted by any prospective buyer of course , so along with his very high pay , he is unsellable. Not really worth discussing anymore.

Doesn't look like there is any interest in him. It looks like we will have to bite the bullet & keep him for the season.

I don't see him playing much when Coady returns !

A week is a long time in football , don't bet your house on it.

So if he is coming in, who will be the sacrificial lamb…

Marasca will almost certainly rotate his midfield , so nobody. Long season , so the entire first team squad is likely to get plenty of minutes. He needs to keep the squad onside , so nobody is sidelined and everybody contributes.

Not necessarily about that though is it, they’ve got a pretty good record of producing players at the minute regardless of whether they’re first team ready for Man City. Clubs are queuing out of the door to pay 10/20/30m for their talent. Palmer, Harwood Bellis, Trafford, Tommy and Callum Doyle, McAtee, Borges, Lavia, Bazunu, Charles… the list goes on and on.

If you want to go to an academy in England that are going to turn you into a top level professional footballer - they’re your best bet.

I don't know however too many ex Man.City graduates who are 25 and regulars for PL clubs , so where they end up , who knows?

  11. The long list of kids who make it to Man. City's match day squad is er.....Foden. Regularly start with no British , let alone English players at all. Foden and Grealish rarely start together. PEPs favourite British player is the old man at RB although Stones seems back in favour now. It must be the hardest club for a kid to break through.

It’s a surprising link but Liverpool under Klopp have often gone for graft in the middle such as Henderson, Wijnaldum, Fabinho etc over fair and technical ability. They have had the flair from the forwards.

I’m not saying KDH is necessarily as high quality but skill set and style wise it’s not that crazy.

KDH does what it says on the tin and yes, not always successfully. His attitude is though generally first rate and Klopp is a fan and I can see why.

I just can’t see him playing for Liverpool…

We should ask for huge money if we do let him go though, key player. Already looks like he could a Championship player of the year candidate.

If he is a candidate for Championship player of the year, of course he could play for Liverpool. He is not a star player but an excellent work horse and every team needs those.

If Mitrovic gets his move to Saudi Arabia wouldn’t be surprised to see movement with this.

Don't see Tim as a principal striker myself but he might surprise me.

Hardly a surprise Chelsea are more interested in working on a 100m deal for a first-teamer, than rushing to help us out.

We are much further down the food chain then some people think.

Pochettino has probably not given it a thought. They have so many players.
