Getting in lower league / non-league players in doesn't work. When have we ever brought in this type if player in the past that has worked.
We are now shopping in poundland I'm afraid

We need to be looking at lower leagues now for options next season. Hopefully our scouts will be looking?

To be fair at least he came over, at the very least that’s something commendable. He stood in the face of angry fans and took it, sometimes that’s all that’s needed in events like this.
Should have done the talking on the pitch. Joke of a captain and vice captain. On 50k a week total joke. Talentless. Another one that's got to go. Of course I care, of course I care. Load of bull

I'm really hoping that supporters can re connect with the club. It might be a blessing in disguise to go down and try and bring the youngsters in with a combination of experience. If we had stayed up we would have the same losers next season. Hopefully they will be gone and we can have a fresh start. It may take a couple of seasons to get back up but I'll take that.

Playing devils advocate if we had just stayed up we would have the same dross playing for us next season with more than likely the same performances. Going down means those players will hopefully move on and we can re build with a mix of youngsters in the side. I would much prefer that than seeing this lot again next season.
-
God knows where we go now with a manager. Got to have experience of lower league football and be able to rebuild a team with good youngsters coming through. Rowett was dealt a terrible hand with the 3 previous managers not being able to get a tune out of this lot. He might be the best we can do. Not convinced Top will get it right as has got it all wrong upto now.

I think the club will be desperate to get rid of all of the high earners still contracted - Winksy, Skipp, Vesty, Souttar, Okoli, BDCR, Hamza, Thomas need to be moved on. Fatawu, Mavididi, Nelson, Stolarcyck and the kids are all on lower wages
Problem is whose going to take them when they are on good wages and won't get that elsewhere? Also seeing hoe pathetic we've been can't see any takers.

If no one wants Winks are we stuck with him for another year on his ridiculous salary?

Yep, get some minutes in and have them fit and raring to go for the start of next season.
Neither will be here next season

If only we'd had a fit JJ throughout things could have been so different. Winks and Choudhury really bad eggs on ridiculous money setting a terrible example. Alot of this is down to those 2 losers.

100% Rowett won't play that weasel Winks.

That 'bit of class' has no output, and you notice that with Winks playing were end up reverting to Enzo ball style play. From playing out the back, to going backwards when attacking. The little passes do nothing, and he has an attitude problem to boot.
But not a chance Winks should have been used in a 'no other option' debate. Notice on Saturday Skipp was dropped to accommodate Winks. Poor, poor management.
I think Skipp was rested because we play Saturday, Tuesday and Friday and needed to rotate the team.

Err - bollocks. His output is marginally better than Page, and we loaned Aribo who we havent played.
Lets not all get locked into this 'there is nothing else Rowett could have done' nonsense. Winks was properly frozen out before King brought him back, and should have stayed frozen.
I think Rowett thought he might have that bit extra class to help us in a desperate situation. In hindsight he was the last player you need in a relegation fight. Added to that god knows what the other players feel when they see him playing
-
Have you ever seen him put his foot into a tackle? He is a wimp and a cry baby. Cooper and RVN weren't wrong about him. Rowett had no other choice but to play him as we've been desperate. If JJ had been fit things could have been so different

The club has been run into the ground ever since Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha died.
For a few years the legacy he put into place lasted and brought us a few good league places and the FA cup, but as time moved on and decisions made my Nepo Baby and Rudkin has impacted the club then the rot started.
Under Top - the recruitment dried up and instead of selling players, and reinvesting evolving the squad - he hired 2 very poor recruitment guys and changed the policy to overspend on keeping players on inflated wages - trying to keep hold of what we had instead of evolving. These players (and certain manager) then had no competition and no motivation and became complacent. The business plan made no sense and we just spent and spent on wages with no sign of recuperating the money
Yes agree with everything said here. Also Maresca suddenly leaving when we all thought he would lead us into the Prem. Panic set in and things have just got worse since
-
He's a bad egg in the squad and one that needs to go. Just worried that no one will take him and we'll be screwed paying his wages. He is a disgrace

I'm 59 and have supported this club all my life and I never felt so crap as I do now. Everything is a disgrace especially the players. Sums them up on Saturday that they are more interested in confronting fans than producing a performance on the pitch. No leaders, no passion, no intensity, no nothing. The stats before the game were damning and I hope the likes of Winks who want out get no offers. Total reset required in Div 1. In some ways feel sorry for Rowett managing this bunch of losers.

Is this genuine? He might be crap but Skipp actually puts himself about/his body on the line and even little things like he's probably fronted up for more post match interviews than anybody else this season would tell you he's not a coward
Have seen Winks on any post match interview this season. Weasel.
-
Just imagine if you were working for a company doing the same job and someone like Winks was earning 3 or 4 times what you were and they refused to do a certain part of the job. In Winks case stay for just one night a week before a game. Also openly slag off the new manager at a function. These bad apples have a huge effect on the team dynamics. Fingers crossed the likes of him can go and we can have a complete reset.

The talent this guy has vs his application is like going home with Dua Lipa and waking up with Linda La Hughes.
He belittled Cooper in public, he threw a wobbly at RVN because he didn't want to stay at the training ground (I was on his side with that one tbh) and he's wanted away for a long time.
He scores a goal every now and again and roars at the fans as if he cares but his performances say otherwise. Should've sold him in January 2025 after the 'Enzo we miss you' sign.
Thanks for 23/24, I enjoyed that Harry Winks. But now he's part of our worst side ever. And I include the last squad that went down to L1. It wasn't as talented but it was disjointed and most of those lads tried and gave a damn. This is a whole new level of depressing as most of these boys shouldn't be in this situation if factor in talent alone.
How can you defend him when he wouldn't stay at the training ground for 1 night a week before a game ? The salary he is on and to do that is just unbelievable. I'm damn sure I would stay in a luxury hotel like accomodation for 1 night. After all it's not a bloody travel lodge. He can rot in hell as far as I'm concerned

League One - Who manages us?

Whoever we get will be a gamble having to bring on the youngsters. Fuchs for me. Title winner with us and an intelligent guy. Would be great to have that connection with the fans again. Done a great job at Newport. Think how he would feel coming back. Would be brilliant.
