Keep an eye on girona vs elche. City group club managed by Michel, took them from the 2nd division to the champions league, had his squad torn apart , now staring down the barrel of relegation. If they go down, Michels stock is in the toilet and with mccarrons link, might be a shout for the job.
Girona Relgated. Let the rumour mill start turning.

Having previously never heard of Dick Schreuder I spent a little time digging into him, firstly, it's a pipe dream. I cannot seriously see him leaving to join us with them within touching distance of the Champions League either this season or next.
Secondly, I am not convinced it would be a good move for either of us right now. I mean, the sheer amount of work that would be required to get us playing his system in such a short time I just don't think is viable, He has wingbacks pushing centrally ahead of strikers, centre backs on the wing, pretty much none of their players have a fixed position, just imagine any of the players in our team trying to work out which position they need to move into next, there's so many positional rotations half our squad would end up in the ****ing car park. They also need ELITE levels of fitness.
My concern is that he would need more than 1 season to just nail the tactics down, and he would need to find a way to win immediately here, he would also need a mass clearout and would need to bring in 15+ players, and I just cannot see us being in a position to do this.
But IF he was mad enough to join us, I think it could be a huge amount of fun, absolute chaos on the pitch.
How can a manager with an average 55-60% win ratio, working with a team he took over 10 months ago achieving champions league with one of the smallest budgets in the dutch top flight, would need time? He would absolutely HMS Piss The League immediately.

Just watched the Wellens interview. Damn we need a bit of that!
I am unsure if what michael duff and richie wellens are doing is covering for their own deficiencies as coaches for underperforming this season. Bold move on the last day of the season when all is said and done to slag off the clubs and playing staff to save face for their next job. Not saying they're incorrect, but they are red flags for me.

Scott Parker should be on the shortlist. I mean there won't even be a shortlist but if there was he should be near top of the list.
Even if this were realistic, he offers absolutely turgid football and will stink the gaff out. If he gets us to the prem, he is not cut out to get a team to survive because he brings negative aura.

Carsley has been at the KP a few times. I think even this season. I think this is a solid shout, and it’s probably at a level where everyone could be willing to take a risk. Especially if the remit is to promote youth. I’d buy into it for sure.
No u21 tournament for england this summer so would be available to get stuck in straight away.

They would have appointed him before now if they could but they now know it would only highlight their incompetence further by doing so.
The fact that there was such heightened security around the ground last week means they can't afford any more obvious slip ups.
That doesn't mean they will make the right appointment. I'd be shocked if they did but RussMart is a no go area
I dunno, the analogy i was thinking of when you're at uni and meet a lass, she's a looker but you're on different paths and never really interact. You get a career, you get married, have kids, mortgage, all going cushty, until one day it all ends, you end up in huge debt having lost your job, have to move back in with the parents and then one night you're in the boozer and you see that lass from years ago, you get cracking on and before you know it, you realised you were made for eachother you're in a relationship, step dad to 3 kids, you eventually clear your debts and you get back on track and lifes good again.
That might be what russell martin is.

Russell martin is inevitable it feels. Maybe his experience getting humiliated in the prem and doing dog at rangers (trying to get a bunch of s**t kickers to do tika taka was never going to work) may have made him re-evaluate how to do things.
He is very good at working with young technical players and I wouldn't write him off. He fits a profile of what we are looking for as a manager with a point to prove. I am not convinced by challinor & skubala because they're working within a framework where everyone is alligned and focused in the same direction.
I don't think we should be losing our heads if it is martin. He's not the worst option out there.

Birmingham also were able to spend over £15 million on a single player in L1.
A player we should've gone all out to sign as vardy's long term replacement but nooooo we had to go buy oliver skipp ☺️

Whilst I agree with most that Skubala is likely to turn us down, if the finances are somewhat redeemable (in the sense of having say 12 months to survive and reset) given the different financial rules for league 1, I do believe there is a chance someone like Skubala may be tempted.
We all know the mess we are in, Lincoln right now have a more solid foundation and better culture, but their wages are far smaller for potential signings, I think most players will join Lincoln aiming to try to survive, whereas with someone like Skubala on board, players would be joining us with an eye on a rebuild back to being a premier league club, the Andy King route.
Let’s say that the board can prove to Skubala that the finances can be redeemed and we will survive if we get promoted next season, who has the higher ceiling in terms of 5-10 year trajectory, us or Lincoln? You’d argue we do.
The thing is, the core of our squad will still potentially have players you’d argue would strengthen Lincolns first team or bench, Aluko, Page, Nelson (if he stays), Silko, Braybrooke/Alves to some degree, Jakub, at this rate Coulibaly, Hamza for his flaws would likely improve Lincoln. These players are the core of what we have left over, and I believe that a manager like Skubala would back himself to get promoted at the first time of asking.
I can completely understand why he would turn us down, but I think someone like him is who we need to throw the kitchen sink at providing we can prove that we will survive financially.
If Hassenhuttl fancies a stab at league one with a massive promotion bonus I’d go all out for him, but I think he’s too established to come.
I think you're massively under-estimating lincoln. They have everything alligned at that club to succeed and the managers that leave lincoln after success end up struggling elsewhere. If skubala leaves lincoln to come to us, lincoln will have another talented coach lined up to take them forward. They're backed by investors who know what they're doing. I can definitely see a scenario where they go up to the prem in the next 5 years. Skubala may not be able to handle stepping from lincoln to leicester in the same way frank struggled at spurs when leaving brentford.

Anyone who doesn't play 4-2-3-1
Rowett stuck in 2012 running the version of this system that leicester worked out how to counter and won the premier league doing 4-4-2. No wonder we had the lowest passes in the final third in the league.

Mousinho would be the best option, the job he has done at Portsmouth favourites to go down in the past 2 seasons in the championship and has kept them up, he also got them promoted from League One, he's a young manager that is going on a upward trajectory.
He's probably going to be considered for a top end championship job in the summer and has earned that opportunity considering he's managed to get a woeful squad to stay in the division.

Would not be surprised if we go in for callum mcfarlane since twice now he's been made interim chelsea manager and been working with youth players. Huge risk and don't know if he has the minerals.

This mob can play out the last two games. Also affects the integrity of the league if we suddenly chose players who put the effort in whilst others around Millwall got to play against the usual failures.
I would normally agree with integrity of the league but playing the kids is a genuine improvement on these lazy overpaid ********

What is clear is that when we went for winners, like Enzo, even if he was relatively new to management, we do well.
I rather a manager who is untested, but a player winner. This group needs a reset in mentality more than anything else. We need to start with a winning mentality from a winner.
Look what Lampard has done at Coventry. He is naturally a winner and this has shone through in Conventry’s style.
Has iborra done his coaching badges?
