Gené and Tonic Posted 19 October 2005 Posted 19 October 2005 From a consortium involving Paul Gascoigne. Just saw it on SSN, apparently the reason why they didn't accept because one of the terms was that Gascoigne was to become he manager. What's our resident Port Vale fan's view on this?

CasinoGee Posted 19 October 2005 Posted 19 October 2005 Kudos to the board for making it public. It clearly wasn't in the club's best interests, just Gazza's. We are in 6th postition with one of the lowest wage bills and gates in both Leagues one and two. Although I do wonder when the board will finally do something out of the ordinary and take a risk. I can't see us ever taking that gamble to be honest (not that this was the right time of course).
