Lemon Harpic Posted 26 January 2006 Posted 26 January 2006 This is taken from the FourFourTwo Season Preview 2005-06 published before the season kicked off... LEICESTER CITY Strengths After having the luxury of almost nine months to settle in at the Walkers Stadium, Craig Levein should now be ready to start replicating the success he had in the SPL at Hearts. He has already built a solid defence - last season, despite Leicester finishing 15th, theback four conceded less than all four of the play-off teams - and it's been strengthened by the summer signing of Celtic goalkeeper Rab Douglas. Weaknesses Starting the season as promotion hopefuls, the Foxes' flirtation with relegation was largely due to their failure to score enough goals. The normally reliable David Connolly should be scoring more than the 13 he managed, while Mark de Vries, Levein's January signing from his former club, has to improve on one goal from 11 starts. Fan File Rachel Sullivan What's the best that could happen this season? Martin O'Neill decides to make a part-time return to the game and comes back as director of football, bringing Muzzy Izzet and Neil Lennon with him. Oh, and we get promoted...of course. And the worst? Relegation. But it won't happen. Young player to watch? Tommy Wright. Hopefully he won't leave. Most important player? David Connolly. Player you would most like to get rid of? Levein has already culled the major culprits, including Lilian Nalis, Scot Gemmill and Keith Gillespie. Is Craig Levein the right manager? Probably. We shall see this season. Where will you finish? Play-offs
