Gené and Tonic Posted 28 January 2006 Share Posted 28 January 2006 From BBC Sport Preston capture Ormerod on a free Preston have signed Southampton striker Brett Ormerod on a free transfer. The former Blackpool striker has been looking for a move back to the north west and has signed at three-and-a-half year deal at Deepdale. Saints spent £1.75m to take the 29-year-old from Bloomfield Road in 2001 but he was unable to make his mark at St Mary's.
