Flemmish Posted 11 March 2006 Posted 11 March 2006 I stupidly got an MSN virus by clicking on a link which a friend gave me (there are reasons why I clicked on the link) and I now have this message which pops up all the time constantly titled 'Nfo' and a message saying "This program was packed with a demo version of eXPressor". I have found out it is something to do with a file called 'micdjd5.exe' and have deleted this file but the problem still remains. Has anybody had this before or similar to this and anybody know if they can help me? Help would be extremly appreciated, thanks.
Chimp Posted 12 March 2006 Posted 12 March 2006 Firstly, go to... http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ ...and run a scan. Post the results here.
Flemmish Posted 12 March 2006 Author Posted 12 March 2006 After completing the scan it say's, 'HouseCall did not find any potential threats on your computer.' I have found some prefetch files which are to do with this virus thing and have deleted them but they seem to make a copy of themselves everytime I start the PC up again. The message I was on about only appears 2 times on start up and If I leave them things seem to work as normal but if i click 'OK' they keep popping up over and over again, making it impossible to run any tasks. The program I downloaded was called 'pics131sp.exe' but I cannot find anything to do with this program when searching for it. I have ran all my anti-virus software, but they find nothing and I am now really stuck as what to do.
Flemmish Posted 13 March 2006 Author Posted 13 March 2006 Finally sorted it out after consultation with a friend from school who actually gave me the virus. I needed to disable the internet because the virus runs with the internet and then I ran some virus software to get rid of the virus. Thanks for all your help Chimp.
