Leicester Lass Posted 17 March 2006 Share Posted 17 March 2006 Chesterfield have drafted in Luton goalkeeper Rob Beckwith after Carl Muggleton quit the club. Muggleton quit the club by mutual consent earlier on Friday after four years at Saltergate. The veteran goalkeeper had three spells at the club with two loan stints before joining The Spireites from Cheltenham in 2002. Chesterfield have moved quickly to fill the void left by Muggleton's departure by bringing in the highly-rated Beckwith on loan for a month. Spireites boss Roy McFarland was delighted to land Beckwith and paid tribute to Muggleton for his service at the club. "The loan signing has been made to provide more cover as Barry (Roche) is still out for a couple more weeks," McFarland told the club's official website. "Carl Muggleton has been a tremendous professional and has served Chesterfield very well. "We thank him for his excellent contribution to the cause and wish him all the best for the future."
