Scow Posted 30 October 2004 Posted 30 October 2004 One of the worst games I've watched this season. Under the cosh for large parts of it. They must have hit the post at least 5 times. They had so much time and space on the ball, Nalis and Gemmill were far too slow and lethargic, couldn't keep up with the midfield. Cardiff central midfielder Graham Kavanagh was made to look like a world beater. Makin and Heath were woeful, particularly their distribution. Must have given the ball away on 7 out of 10 passes. The encouraging news is that Elliott was very solid today, held our defence together - Winning everything in the air, distributed it well, and was also a threat for attacking set pieces aswell. Stewart played well today, not so much going forward, but he dealt with McAnuff well. Dublin? Same old. Connolly? Ineffective and easily contained by Gabbidon. Overall, a woeful game to watch in which the ball seemed to be more in the air than the ground - Very lucky to come away with a point. Few minutes from the end, O'Neill hit a curling shot from 25 yards out with no challenge in sight, which hit in the inside of the post before trickling across the line until Makin cleared. We had a few chances, A Dublin header well saved from a Stewart cross, and Connolly having a header cleared off the line. Good point in the circumstances, but Levein certainly has his work cut out....
HMFC Posted 30 October 2004 Posted 30 October 2004 1 point is better than none. Did your team perform above average for the new man watching or was it same old same old?

HMFC Posted 30 October 2004 Posted 30 October 2004 Big job ahead for Craig then. We won 3-0 albeit against 10 men. Could and should have been more. One of our forwards was fit enough to play today and I think it made a big difference. Enough of my team ... do you think Craig saw enough today and will he know enough about the squad to make changes for the Crewe game?
Leicester_Mad Posted 30 October 2004 Posted 30 October 2004 you forgot to mention your highlight of the day? Meeting me was a shite game, atmosphere was funny though although got a bit repetitive towards the end of the game. How the last shot they had which hit the post stayed out i will never know. CL has his work cut out but lets give him time to do what he promises...get us back to the Premiership. I have faith in him

I suppose it did get a bit repetitive with the England chanting, but it makes a change to have (almost) constant singing/noise.
