but how about re-inventing the european cup as a competition permanently held in europe but inviting top south american/african /asian teams on some sort of world ranking method to join the tournament thereby giving a sort of world cup status while remaining geographically in the part of the world best suited for soccer both logistically and climate etc

perhaps calling it the "european super tournament" or something

continue the world cup on its global path and hold it in europe every third tournament

any ideas or is just a bummer
