discojoe Posted 23 July 2004 Posted 23 July 2004 surely this is worth pursuing the Everton can say is no and at the moment i cant see them doing it especially with just signing cahill. even if its on loan ?
discojoe Posted 23 July 2004 Author Posted 23 July 2004 to be honest we havent got any1 and its quite worrying cus we have got a brandnew midfield and they need time to gel as does the defence so im hoping a couple of signings will be made very soon wot do u think?
Connoly Posted 23 July 2004 Posted 23 July 2004 we are gonna miss izzet badly, and i reckon that although some of our signings are half-decent, some are simply not up to scratch. We will also miss dickov, who is better than the ageing dublin and tempermental connolly.
discojoe Posted 23 July 2004 Author Posted 23 July 2004 we have been dealt our cards now we just need to get on with it and win the league which is well capable there isnt even any1 in the acadamy that i can think of who can fill the defensive role
Connoly Posted 23 July 2004 Posted 23 July 2004 yeah, gd point. but i am gonna stick by my prediction of a play off place, with west ham and wolves filling the automatic spots.
Scow Posted 23 July 2004 Posted 23 July 2004 I've got a feeling Wolves won't do as well as people make out - Although they have kept the majority of the squad from last season, they still have lost important players such as Irwin, Rae, Butler and Camara (Who is certain to leave.) I think they have only purchased one player so far. So they may just hover around the play offs next season, unless they bring in a few more players before the season. As I said in another thread yesterday, Carlsle could be quite a decent buy for us. We need that bite in midfield, and he would provide that. There is no way we could really accomodate both Williams and Nalis in the centre of midfield, both lack any steel and grit.
Jonno Posted 23 July 2004 Posted 23 July 2004 Wolves are hugely overrated. Their midfield is shit, and their strikers are stupidly overrated. Cort & Ganea? They are rubbish ffs! Their defence is very good especially with Lescott coming back, but they have lost Butler & Irwin who were very important to their back line. They're good for the playoffs yes, but are definately not certainties for the automatic spots. I don't think anyone is a clear leader really. West Ham perhaps edge it for me.

They also look like losing Carrick, and possibly Etherington.
Scow Posted 23 July 2004 Posted 23 July 2004 Yeah, Caricks of to Palace aint he? Not sure. Latest I heard was that both Southampton and Newcastle wanted him - Newcastle may step up their efforts now after Speed departing to Bolton.

Also Kenny Miller wants to leave as he has handed in a Transfer Request
