lookwhaticando Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 Drew at Sheff Yoo on opening day. Lost two defenders to injury that game. Tonight they lose Sissoko - he was 'stretchered off' - well, apparently driven away in an ambulance more like it. Things aren't looking terribly clever up there right now

dandannieldanok Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 I don't think they will be anywhere near Chelsea this season, or Manchester United for that matter.
lcfc_jme Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 Early doors yet though, and Liverpool have already beaten a pretty strong Chelsea side this season so you never know

Chelsea will be able to keep the pace for 8/10 months of the premiership, Liverpool will stutter. I believe Man Utd will be Chelski's closest rivals.
lcfc_jme Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 I personally would love to see Arsenal, Liverpool and United all beat Chelsea this season, and perhaps a couple of teams springing a suprise on them. Anybody for the Prem but Chelsea for me
Mort Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 I'd agree that the key is consistency, Chelsea will maintain a run of solid showings with a few blipps and i dont see any other team matching them, ManU will probably be the closest with the gunners and Liverpool fighting it out for thrid place... but i get the sense that Spurs and even WestHam may do well this season (not challenging the big four though).
Ultra Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 They have a massive squad, big enough to cope with a few injuries. It's as wrong to judge how their season will turn out as it is to judge ours.

It's as wrong to judge how their season will turn out as it is to judge ours. There's no doubting they've a large squad - but they've had a few worries with some real key players. Riise isn't the kind of player they can replace that easily. Sissoko's important too, and Carragher is who the defence is built around, basically. To lose 3 in such a short space of time is a bit of a worry. But yeah, it is early days yet, and I'm sure they'll be fine, but it's not been a great start unfortunately for them.
