lookwhaticando Posted 4 September 2006 Posted 4 September 2006 Stowell Keeping Fingers Crossed City assistant manager Mike Stowell was pleased to report an empty treatment room at the Belvoir Drive training ground today (Monday). Both Danny Tiatto and Rab Douglas were back out on the training pitches during the morning session - and the duo will now be looking to build up their match fitness following their enforced period on the sidelines. But Stowell revealed that the City coaching staff will not sleep easy until the entire squad are back in the fold ahead of next Saturday's Championship clash against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns. He said: "We have pretty much got a clean bill of health at the moment, which is good news. "But we are conscious that we have got a number of players away on international duty at the moment, so we are keeping our fingers crossed that they all arrive back safe and sound ahead of the game at the weekend." Iain Hume, Patrick Kisnorbo, Gareth McAuley and Momo Sylla are currently away with their respective nations, and Stowell confirmed that the Foxes had made good use of the break the international fixtures had afforded them. He added: "This break has given us a good opportunity to do a lot of work on the training ground. Rob has been in his element out there. It's been an excellent week. "We have had some quality time with the players and that has allowed us to do a little bit more coaching and technical work with them. "When you have got so many games you have to be careful with them. The key is to keep everyone fresh for matches. "We have got a tough test coming up against West Brom on Saturday. They are a strong side, but we certainly won't be fazed by that. "It's a game that we are all really looking forward to." Sounds like Rob's having some fun out on the training fields with the squad. Good to know the squad's in decent shape at the minute, as far as can be told considering a few absent players.
