from the independent;

"Adams hopes a fresh start at Coventry will allow him to forget the troubles which dogged his time at Leicester. "I was quoted after leaving Leicester as saying I hoped at my next club I would be able to enjoy a quiet life," Adams said. "I meant not having to go through the events we endured at Leicester, what withadministration and the La Manga situation too."

"I think perhaps the only mistake I made was that at the start of this season I said I wanted a top-two finish. But towards the end of my time there I was getting tired and if I'm honest, that possibly affected my decision-making at times. But I have no regrets aboutLeicester because I think my record there speaks for itself."

utter bollocks,

correct me if wrong, but the la-manga affair was a direct result of his decision to go there during a time when this club was skint and his failure to control the players.

the only mistake i made was wanting a top two finish.....only mistake...pleeeeease

administration problems....the whole club went into administration, people lost their jobs, the fans and followers dug deep to keep the club afloat.

the players deffered wages, he did nothing!

and before anyone says he got us promoted are blind to the FACT that the players would lose thousands of pounds if we didnt go up...possibly the biggest motivation factor ever needed...the players got leicester promoted to re-coup the cash they had deffered.

time will tell at coventry, i dont dis-like the guy i just think he is poor man manager.

 rant over.

Hold on a minute, far be it from me to defend the guy again but give him a break ffs.

The Le Manga affair was the direct result of a group of grown men not acting sensibly and realising what could result from their behaviour. Mickey Adams was not even there.

The cost of the trip was met by a director.

Of course the whole club went into administration, read what he says "the events we endured" not Mickey adams endured, not I endured, but we.

Agreed he made more than the one mistake, he admits that himself later in the same sentence. He made some howlers and had to go, no argument but stop blaming him for everything.

And as for the only reason we got ourselves promoted being that the players wanted to recoup their cash, thats just stupid. It was a deferment not a rewritten performance bonus.

People have a right pop at Chandler for bringing up the Mickey thing time and time again but the anti Mickey brigade are relentless in their efforts to keep having a go.

as i said i dont dis-like the guy

that is my opinion and i believe that when we got promoted the players didnt require motivating...a key trait in management

and to say la-manga was'nt micky's fault is laughable he chose to take the team there,

he was in charge of the players and in a position to address them as to what time they should have been tucked up in bed, so to speak.

like i said, that is my opinion.

Yes you're right I've changed my mind.

Mickey, you abused your position of being an omnipresent. You could quite clearly see that all those miles away those grown men were being naughty. How could you let them go to court and stay in those cells.

I really don't know how you sleep at night.

One of my sales team at work is on a charge of assault. I'm off to ring the police and take the rap myself. after all, if I was doing my job as his boss he wouldn't have done anything wrong.

Not sure what the key trait here is, motivating or getting people that don't require motivation.

the players didnt require motivating because they wanted their cash back

micky couldnt motivate himself

He won't have to move from Market Harborough anyway?!?!?

I have it on good authority that he doesn't live there anymore. He moved to Quorn in the summer but he may still have a house there although I doubt he could afford that.

Oh I see now.

What you're saying is that if they didn't get promotion they would not have been paid the money due under their contracts.

What they agreed to therefore wasn't a deferment was it, they signed 30% of their wages away to increase their motivation - a master stroke by the administrators.

I am now going to put my business into administration, slash the sales force's wages by 30% and watch the business flow in. It's so simple I can't think why I never thought of it before.

And here's me employing a manager to motivate them. :S
