The Reverend Posted 17 June 2007 Posted 17 June 2007 Final day at the US Open, Aaron Baddely leading by two shots. But behind him is no other than.....Tiger Woods. Never came from behind to win a major has Tiger so it could make for interesting viewing. Will Baddely hold up to the pressure? Will Tiger win? Or will it be someone else?
dandannieldanok Posted 17 June 2007 Posted 17 June 2007 Desperately hope Casey or Rose can come up with the goods but I'm not sure anyone will be able to hold their nerve like Tiger. If Tiger can hit the greens in regulation like yesterday, coupled with better putting, he should win by a couple of shots IMO.
Leicester Lass Posted 17 June 2007 Posted 17 June 2007 My money's definitely on Tiger, the way he played yesterday was simply unbelieveable. If he can produce a performance anywhere near that again no-one will get near him. Saying that though, Baddely is leading the putting stats and another good day on the greens and the title could well be his. One thing's for sure - I can't wait!!!!!!!!
The Reverend Posted 17 June 2007 Author Posted 17 June 2007 Tiger played a fantastic round yesterday and had he putted better, the title may have been his already - he left 4 or 5 putts out there. I would love to see Casey or Rose win it though. This British drought has to end soon. Casey is a great player and i think he loves the pressure - im sure he will do well. Rose i dont think has the bottle though. He seems to let it get to him towards the end and i cant see him being anywhere near at the end. I hope im wrong though.
The Reverend Posted 18 June 2007 Author Posted 18 June 2007 Angel Cabrera the winner then in the end. Didnt think he had it in him. It was Tiger to win though and he failed. He seems to lose that edge when he is chasing the lead - he just doesnt seem the same player. Surprised at Casey - he really fell away, as did Rose, though not as badly as Case. Surprised. Well done though Cabrera - hes always been a good player and it was just a matter of taking it to the next level. Amd as hes a regular on the European tour, im sure it will inspire Europeans to really have a go in future Majors.
dandannieldanok Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 What is it with European players, especially the British, that makes them freeze in the last round of a major?
The Reverend Posted 18 June 2007 Author Posted 18 June 2007 What is it with European players, especially the British, that makes them freeze in the last round of a major? Probably the same reason the England Football team freeze's in the big games and penalty shoot outs - we're just a nation of bottlers
dandannieldanok Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 I liked Tiger Woods's comment when he said finishing one-one-two-two in the last four majors was just OK.
The Reverend Posted 18 June 2007 Author Posted 18 June 2007 I liked Tiger Woods's comment when he said finishing one-one-two-two in the last four majors was just OK. I didnt hear that one - and i didnt realise that stat. He should have had all four. He played some terrible shots out there yesterday for someone as talented as he is. His name should be on the trophy and he'll know that. I'm still amazed hes never came from behind to win in a Major. As i said earlier he just seems a different golfer in that situation.
