foxilescom Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 Today wasn't really what you call a fun Monday was it ?. The reality of yesterdays defeat at Blackburn Rovers is brought home fully when you hear on the radio at 1.30pm " Arsenal , will play number 4 - Blackburn Rovers " I still feel that Blackburn were there for the taking, just needed a bit of luck. Tomorrows game at Watford is a big game, as is the game on Friday at West Ham, they all are now. I just read in the Blackburn programme that after City's defeat in the 6th round of the FA Cup a few years ago against Wycombe Wanderers, City then lost 9 of their last 10 league games to slip from 5th in the Premiership to 13th. We still need points, I hope that the players will react positively to Sundays events. Maybe the young striker Moore signed from Aston Villa last Friday on loan can get us a goal. Now it is 4 games without a City goal. All thoughts of going to Cardiff are now history. Next season, the FA Cup finals and Semi finals will be played at the new Wembley, I expect the play off finals will be too, maybe the league cup will be at Cardiff for one last season, we will have to wait and see. I could see in my mind the blue army in full voice with the roof shut ! , just wasn't to be. Foxiles.com - 14/03/05
Ash Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 Always next year , But next year the final would be at the New Wembley. Oh that would be nice, First team to win the FA Cup at the New Wembley.
Scow Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 I hope we can bounce back, but I'm extremely concerned by our lack of goals. We simply don't look a threat upfront. Connolly continues to baffle in front of goal, de Vries doesn't look like a goalscorer, and Wright simply isn't good enough. The difference with Wycombe was that we were performing well before that game - We had beaten Liverpool 2-0 the week before and were positioned fourth in the league. Whereas prior to Blackburn, we had been struggling. Let's just hope the cup exit signals an upturn in league form, although I'm not so sure that will be the case...
scodger cubs Posted 14 March 2005 Posted 14 March 2005 Oh that would be nice, First team to win the FA Cup at the New Wembley. Oh yes! ...and De Vries to score the winner at the New Wembley!
