Fosse Boy Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/wiveng2009/...ory/384526.html Any thoughts? Vaughan misses out but to me that's no great shock. If he wants to play for England again then I feel he needs to prove himself on the county scene once more. Although I suspect he may decide to retire and opt for easy money sooner rather than later, should Sky Sports come knocking on his door. Still not convinced by either Ambrose or Prior behind the stumps. Would've liked to have seen Davies from Worcestershire given his chance instead of a place in the Lions squad.
Brainy Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 Good to see some Worcestershire lads getting the call up, especially Davies. Not to the full squad, but oh well. One day
Uncle Albert Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 I think it was right not to include Vaughan for the tour he should travel with his County and try and get a few runs and some valuable time at the crease. Then he should be ready for the series against the West Indies at home before the Ashes and then you never know. I think its about time Ian Bell was dropped for Shah as its just not happening now for him just 182 runs in the last 10 innings just isnt good enough at International level. Tim Ambrose shouldnt of been in the squad he should be going with the Lions to New Zealand to work on his game. Surely Davis would of benefited more aswell from being in the Test squad along with the ODI squad. Will give him more experience on the England set up and will help him fit in with the squad better aswell. SideArse coming back in is another boost as the bowling attack has looked a little big ragged to say the least in the India Test's. Harmison know's how to bowl over there aswell so I am predicting good things for Harmy over there. Flintoff looks like he is getting back to his best aswell with bat and ball making a few runs and taking some big wickets in India so things are on the up for Fred. One player who I think will shine out there will be Collingwood deserves a big knock and I think he will get it and will be our stand out batsman.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 There is a distinct lack of Steve Stubbings in that squad
