Dave-Pundit Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 I just can't wait, it's not long until the start of the new season, I remember the start of the season back in my playing days, it was tiring to say the least, watching my team-mates until I injured someone in training. I remember my first pre-season back when I was at Liverpool, the training sessions were unbelievably strict, I was standing around kicking a ball when I told and expected to run around the side of the pitch for the next hour, I was so shocked I nearly dropped my crate! But anyway enough of my successful career. Man United though have builded to their squad brilliantly. Out goes those cocky, self obssesed Ronaldo and it comes one of the greatest strikers to walk the planet in Micheal Owen. The problem with Ronaldo was he went down after every single challenge and constantly had "Niggling injuries", luckily you don't get any of that with Owen, just pure English grit. It's also great to see United leading the way in the Micheal Jackson tribute by playing Valencia and Nani on the wings. That's respect. The other half of Manchester City have brought in some top quality aswell and for me are good enough to break that top 4, the likes of Taylor and Barry have come in to add on their already English based squad of Richards, Onouhua, Ireland, Johnson and Given. It's pretty laughable though they think they will get the mighty John Terry, Chelsea's leader, the countries leader. I doubt John Terry would leave for just money, you might get these Adeboyoaears of this world leaving for the money but not any English players, especially not England regulars. I see the court made the right decision in giving Gerrard the not guily verdict, since when has a couple of punches been against the law. Back in our day we used to stamp on people's balls, elbow to the faces and 2 footed lunges and the opposition used to just get back up and shake your hand. How football's lost it way, now it's all passing, goals and skill. Pathetic, luckily Pulis and Allerdyce are still about or I just wouldn't bother watching the ENGLISH game. if you want my personal tips. Chelsea to win the league, Burnley, Hull, Wolves to go down. anyway it's still pre-season so this is just some light work as i'm not fully fit yet to pundit to my best.
