My post is admin approved and I am delighted to let you know about a fantastic event I am hosting which could give you the chance to meet the legendary Gordon Banks! The event is for players of the England 1966 World Cup Team and it takes place at Saviles Hall, Armouries Square in Leeds City Centre on the 21st of May 2010. This event includes Sir Geoff Hurst, Jack Charlton, Gordon Banks and John Stiles (comedian and son of Nobby Stiles) and all tickets include a drinks reception, 3 course meal with wine and coffee/tea. There will be a silent auction on the night, individual tickets start from £100 and further details and specifications about the event can be found on www.lifeeventsuk.com/worldcup1966. Gordon Banks is really excited about attending the event and says “ I love working with my old colleagues from our famous World Cup win in ’66 especially with Terry Baker, the compere who always looks after us so well. Leeds is a great football city so it should be a great night for everyone who comes to see us.” There are two levels of tickets and I have included the details below. Standard Tickets: £100 each Each Standard ticket includes a drinks reception, 3 course meal with wine and tea/coffee and the once in a lifetime chance to hear the players of the 1966 team speak. VIP Tickets: £200 each Each VIP ticket includes all the benefits of a standard ticket plus a VIP drinks reception with the players, the best seats in the house, and you get your picture taken with the players and they will hand sign it for you on the night. The historic win for England at the 1966 World Cup was thrilling and controversial but more than anything it was a magical day for England. This memory holds a permanent place of pride in the hearts of football fans all over the country and leading into another World Cup tournament in June it helps us to believe we can do it all again! Part of the proceeds from the event will go to support the NSPCC (www.nspcc.org.uk/) and SportsAid (Yorkshire & Humber) (www.sportsaid.org.uk/region/yorkshire_humberside).
