cjfcfundraiser Posted 13 April 2010 Posted 13 April 2010 We are fundraising for our local junior football team and Graham Fenton has kindly donated his 2000 Worthington Cup final shirt. The 2000 Worthington Cup Final was played between Leicester City, in their third final appearance in four years, and Tranmere Rovers (First Division) at Wembley on 27 February 2000. Leicester became the last team to win the League Cup at the old Wembley stadium. Over 74,000 fans saw the Foxes win by 2-1. Two goals by the Captain Matt Elliott helped the premiership team to win the exciting final. Muzzy Izzet missed a goal, Tranmere had a player sent off and even the referee had to be 'substituted' due to an injury!! In short, a classic cup final. There were only 36 of these shirts made, two for each of the 18 man squad, and even though Fenton was not in the line up for the finals, he made major contibution in previous rounds on the road to Wembley. This shirt, signed by Fenton is in good condition and is a must have for the true Foxes fan. Whats more, all proceeds will go towards supporting grassroots football, to help Cramlington Juniors U9's teams fundraising efforts. This is your one chance to own a piece of footballing history. Dont miss it!! ebay Item number: 120556515882 link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Graham-Fentons-signed-2000-worthington-cup-final-shirt_W0QQitemZ120556515882QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_3?hash=item1c11ba722a
