"It was the biggest game of the season so far and with the way the Rams have been performing recently it’s a good gauge of where City are under Sven-Goran Eriksson. Based on that display we are certainly moving in the right direction. "I think the game was won and lost in midfield and Richie Wellens was absolutely outstanding. He was winning the ball and linking-up play brilliantly and that was probably his most impressive performance of the season. "Paul Gallagher had another good game and he’s clearly benefiting from a bit of a run in the team. I was delighted for big Steve Howard up front who again worked tirelessly and grabbed the second and crucial goal with a calmly taken penalty. I spoke to Steve after the game and he was absolutely buzzing with the goal and being captain for the day. He’s in great form at the moment and seems to be getting a lot more recognition from the supporters too."
