From his latest blog...

"For me, the real turning point of the season wasn’t the loss at Reading, it was the home draw against Crystal Palace last week. Everybody was buzzing after the 4-0 thumping of Burnley just a few days previously and to drop two vital points to a struggling Palace side really deflated the fans, and I’m sure it had the same effect on the players. Palace have lost 16 times on their travels this season, only winning once, so it was a real missed opportunity for City.

"At the moment the team isn’t resolute enough and that’s the main reason why we’re not right in the play-off mix. We have the quality, there’s no doubt about that, but there’s a lack of grit at times and the players haven’t quite moulded into a team unit yet.

"Of all the loan-signings, Kyle Naughton has been by far the most impressive and was deservedly voted into the Championship PFA team of the year this week, alongside Andy King. Kyle has Premier League class but also has experience of playing in the Championship and that’s really helped him this season. It’s something that a few of the other young loan players don’t have and I think that has showed at times.

"I’ve seen glimpses of the class that Yakubu and Diomansy Kamara possess but they both have the capacity to go missing at times, particularly Yakubu, who despite a decent goals return, doesn’t always do enough for the team with his all-round game. But, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Yak popped up with a crucial goal or two this weekend. He seems to be a player that can lift himself for the big occasion."
