"I’m a bit lost with some of the decisions at the moment and I was shocked to see Matt Mills dropped for the Bristol City game on Wednesday. To be installed as captain and then dropped is a strange one and certainly not a confidence booster, and it would’ve been a blow to Schlupp’s confidence to be bombed out of the squad completely. "People are saying we need to go out and buy Nicky Maynard but I don’t see him as any big shakes. He capitalised on two opportunities and took his goals well, but I didn’t see too much else from him, particularly if you’re going to pay £4m or £5m. "I’m sure the fans will be questioning what I’m talking about but we’ve got to be careful with the money we’re spending on players. I think Jermaine Beckford would’ve been a good signing, better than Maynard. "We’ve not played any of the top, top teams yet and we’ve got to get our act together very quickly and get it sorted out at Forest tomorrow. Steve McClaren’s men will be more confident after a slow start, following their 1-0 win at Doncaster on Tuesday so it won’t be easy. "Let’s put it into perspective, it’s a long, long season and there’s a lot of work to be done. We’ve got a big squad and some very good players.
