I have followed his career closely since he signed in 2008 and think that he is a top defender. It must have been a very difficult time for him on the sidelines, with so much going on around him, but to see him complete 90 minutes against Forest was pleasing. He made a few mistakes and didn’t compete as much as he usually would for headers, but that’s to be expected considering the time out and the nature of his injury. "January could be a big month for Tunchev, with Sol Bamba at the Africa Cup of Nations and nobody’s place really guaranteed in the team at present. There’s no doubt that Tunchev, fully fit, would be a player capable of performing in the Premier League."
