Clive Redman Posted 12 September 2013 Posted 12 September 2013 Leicester City legend Gerry Taggart will be featuring alongside former Tigers and England star, Neil Back, and former Leicestershire Cricketer and the current Voice of Test Match Special, Jonathan Agnew, in a special sports-themed Q&A Charity event being held at the Dunton Bassett Arms later this month. The event will take place from 7pm on Tuesday September 24th and will raise funds for local sight-loss charity Vista and the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund. Gerry Taggart played for Leicester City between 1998 and 2004, establishing himself as one of the club’s greatest defenders and was even named as caretaker manager in 2007, where he was part of Gary Megson’s coaching team. Partnering Steve Walsh and Matt Elliott, Taggart was part of the 2000 League Cup-winning side under Martin O’Neill and a regular performer in the Premier League with City. After enduring relegation with the Foxes, Taggart opted to remain on Filbert Way to help the club regain its top-flight status. Presented by Leicester-based sports marketing agency, Soar Media, the unique Q&A Evening will see all three provide tales of their respective careers with three of Leicestershire’s elite sports clubs, in addition to their achievements at international level and beyond. The event will be hosted at the Dunton Bassett Arms by the evening’s MC, Rob Wann. Tickets are available now for just £30, which also includes a delicious two-course Chinese meal. To book, visit the Dunton Bassett Arms in person or call 01455 209 786.
