McDonald returning would be fantastic. Hell of a player and respected leader. I really can't put my finger on why we're so poorly supported cricket-wise. The ground isn't ideal. I personally like the quaintness of it but it is showing its age. In addition, a lot of people still don't even know where it is. As for the squad, don't get me started. I'll always go down but a lot won't. Although I have a dislike of all things Notts, I do cast an envious eye up at their set up. Superb, mid-size (in the scheme of things) ground and a fantastic playing set up. I'm not suggesting we can reach that level but this current set up we have is going nowhere fast. It's all a bit homespun and downbeat. Don't see this as an attack, it isn't. I dream of a day when the cricket club gets even a fraction of the level of support and glory that the bigger teams in the city receive, but I just can't see it happening. Best of luck to them against Lancs this evening. A four-day win by the end of the season would be nice too!

Changes at all levels needed. Otherwise they might as well play in the Minor Counties. Unless things change that's where they'll be in the not too distant future.

There has to be some rich person/consortium in the county who likes cricket. Even though the budget is low, they really shouldn't be producing the garbage that they are.

Whitticase needs to do the honourable thing and step down immediately. I won't say that we're Minor Counties standard as that's offensive to some of those teams. We could well be joining them soon. Tripe, as usual.

No, no and thrice no. Turns people into paranoid, empty headed wrecks. Try living next door to a bunch of potheads and all the Pro lot would soon change their tune. The stuff reeks as well and there's kids that have to breathe that crap in when it wafts over. Parks are the worst place for it. There needs to be a message that this stuff is definitely not ok.

Very lucky with the weather again in the last match. I fear we're only a couple of steps away from Minor Counties cricket unfortunately. Especially if this IPL style franchise idea gets off the ground as you know it'll be Notts and Brum that represent this area.

Still think we'll struggle to avoid finishing bottom this season. IMO we're short by a couple of players as what we have at the minute are all much of a muchness in the middle order, except Shiv, but no doubt he'll be off in a year or two if Notts come sniffing as they usually do. Such a shame as it seems its always a step forward followed by a slightly bigger one back. Would love to see us build a decent settled squad and gradually rising up the table year on year, but with the lack of funds it's so frustrating. At least Cobb hasn't jumped ship yet.
