  1. It's also funding utterly ludicrous and pointless tests on kids' buggies that bear no resemblence to the stresses and strains a kid's buggy would actually undergo, thus rendering the conculsions of said ludicrous and pointless tests totally irrelevant.
  2. What cheese would you use to hide a small horse in? Mascarpone
  3. A nice round of golf in the sun. Having got home, it appears the sun was stronger than I thought, bright red forehead & cheeks
  4. Samosas. Lovely fresh vegetable samosas
  5. Started a new job today, went really well. The people I work with seem decent enough too so all round it's been a good day.
  6. It was my 5th, they don't get any easier! I wanted to do the Leicester Half but I'm doing a 10k the same day so can't make it
  7. Hard. Ran the Wolverhampton Half Marathon today, 2 hours 16 mins. Pretty gutted cos was doing well till the 8-mile mark when cramps kicked in & had to slow down considerably. Pesky cramp
  8. Awesome. Had a 2nd interview for a job this morning & just got a call off the agency to say they want to give me the job. One of the benefits is free rail travel throughout the midlands and throughout the rest of the UK on any rail network at 75% discount, which means I'll be getting to work for free from October plus travelling to city matches home & away for peanuts to. Plus they're paying me more than the job spec said they would. Ya beauty!
  9. Read about the company you're looking to get a job with, see if there's any recent news articles online, look at their website. Read the job description - they'll usually give a list of skills they want the candidate to have, try & think of at least one example for each one where you've displayed said skill. Sometimes they'll ask what are your strengths & weaknesses so it's good to have an answer prepared - make sure the strengths you say match the skills required for the job.
  10. My interview today was for the job of Financial Controller for a casino. Sadly that casino is the Isle Casino at the Ricoh. I'm not sure I can stomach working within that despicable place 5 days a week surrounded by their sort
  11. Michael Page. I have had calls from 7 different people there about jobs, it's nice to feel look-after!
  12. That job probably doesn't exist/has already been filled, they'll just put that there to tempt you in. Once they've got your details they start to send you decent stuff, or so I've found. I've had tonnes of calls over the past 2 weeks from people at one recruitment company with loads of different roles that've actually come to something whereas I've never actually got an interview for a job I've sent my details in for when I've found it on a website
  13. I'm currently job-hunting - my current place are making me redundant as of the end of September. I had one interview last week, had one yesterday, another this morning, got one Thursday afternoon & another Friday afternoon. Absolutely knackering. Seems there's plenty of work out there for accountants/financial types.
  14. The wife. Try as she might, she can never find third gear on my car. It's painful letting her behind the wheel of my car, I'm seriously considering taking her off my insurance, certainly a cheaper alternative to a new gearbox.
  15. Not the best, went to my Aunt's funeral. On the plus side, one of the fellow mourners was Willie Thorn, very nice man.
