Ben-Gvir being charming and advocating for thousandfold disproportionate response in Lebanon, then.

    There’s an election coming mac

he knows which way the wind is blowing

it’s rhetoric for his base - he has no say over the military

him and his mate smotrich are going to be struggling to go abroad on holiday for a considerable time!

The bloke responsible for pushing a toddler into a crocodile enclosure needs to be strung up.

Sounds like he’s a special needs person and his carer wasn’t doing their job v well.
he’s been released on bail because he’s not mentally fit for police interview

    raises a lot of questions

Take the money and hopefully a sell on.

As for his Arsenal future they are opening to selling both Trossard and Martinelli, they are not signing Monga to replace 1 of them that’s for sure.
They are the current Premier Lge champions and will buy accordingly meaning, ready made players that will enable them to compete at all levels.

They have had a taste of winning something and they will want more, Monga is to far off of being of any help to them & sadly, I think for him, if he goes he will be stuck in limbo with his age and their quest to stay top.

they’ve been sticking a 16 y o on the RW when necessary.  Monga would have every chance there if he’s good eneough. Yes, they’ll buy someone older who is amazing on the left but if Monga excels then they’ll promote him. plenty of games available for a club that is playing in so many comps.  As a top ten global club, Arsenal would be thinking about the possibility of downan and Monga as their two wide players within two/three years.

I've wondered the same with PR as well. I think PR and/or rejoining the European single market would probably the 2 big policies which both the Lib Dems and Greens would ask for from Labour to form a coalition or if the Lib Dems and Greens wanted to form an election pact between them they'd be their 2 big policies they'd agree on and both of which are popular amongst Green and LibDem voters even if they have different economic ideals.

We did the PR thing 15 years ago

I think an EU vote would take precedent because it’s achievable.  A labour led coalition would be unlikely to agree to both imo

I've been saying this for years, we could just go back to arrangements we had pre 2021. We can't because it would upset boomers in the shires.

Huge if it’s true and all countries would accept it

i wonder if we see a hung parliament next time, whether the party holding the balance of power ( eg. Lib Dem’s in a coalition with labour ) could insist on a re entry referendum ?

Will there actually be that much money from El Khannouss once you take off his book value?

    No

so it’s likely irrelevant to psr as it’s neutral

I assume that because we received a loan fee for the season 25/26 that the sale will go after June 30th

This would be a positive sign. If we're pushing revenue into the next financial year, it implies we're not desperately trying to comply with PSR for 2025/26 and should have more funds for next season.

Or we may be so stuffed for this season that there’s no point in trying to conform

or ( more likely) we already have some deals done for June which deal with the 25/26 issues

  8. Some rain about tomorrow morning in New York with a stiff breeze throughout ( still steamy though)

the morning starters Thursday then have the strongest of Fridays breeze pm

Rory and Tommy out early and Rosie,  Raj and Fitz are late.  Rough looks v tough but fairways are wide. I’ll say that Rosie and rai are best suited of the British players

When Hull City won promotion back to the Premier League by beating Middlesbrough in the play-off final it came with guaranteed riches of around £200m.

Yet in a strange twist, winning that game means Hull must sell players before the end of the month to avoid a potential points deduction in the Premier League.

The Tigers have an overspend of around £6m on their profit and sustainability (PSR) calculation. Under English Football League rules, that could lead to a six-point penalty.

It is a breach caused by promotion bonuses included in the players' contracts.

Had Hull lost to Boro, they would not be in danger of exceeding the maximum losses of £39m for the past three seasons and there would be no points penalty in the Championship.

    It's crazy

Promotion bonus’ should be allowed to be moved into the following season’s accounts for psr calcs. Obviously they have to be included in the annual accounts for the period in which they were paid

If Burnley have successfully litigated this why aren't we already doing the same?

Cos we also broke the rules that season so should have had a deduction??

or maybe the fact that we passed up the opportunity to do this when it was presented several years ago (on the basis that we also offended) and it’s now timed out to do so.

Possibly worse I think, as Iran now know the US is a paper tiger that is not willing to invade, and that they can fight on almost indefinitely against air attack, while causing Billions of dollars of damage to US bases and allied countries which they don't like very much.  Oh and they know what they only hoped before, that their power to block the Straight of Hormuz is a massive trump card.  SO maybe they go back to where they were on nuclear weapons, but they feel emboldened in every other way, and will come out with fewer sanctions and more wealth

The below says that they’ve basically agreed to stop fighting for 60 days whilst they discuss all the things they were discussing before the Americans and Israelis attacked.  As per usual with the USA - no plan behind hope. There were some sliding doors moments in the first week or two but no one thought erdogan wouldn’t kick off about arming the Kurds to insurge in nw Iran ?  That was their big idea to destabilise ………..

Vance has described the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the US and Iran as "about a page and a half" and a "very general" document.

so this could be one long stall whilst they chat a lot for a few months and the mid terms get done but more likely trump realises that he doesn’t have the political will to take on the Iranian mullahs and the timing of the mid terms will also see what govt emerges is Israel.

So correct me if I'm wrong, but the current agreement in the Middle East will pretty much status quo ante bellum... only with hundreds of billions of dollars spent quite a few lives needlessly taken, and economic uncertainty redoubled.

That seems like a fine use of taxpayer resources, right?

think we need to wait for the wording of the MOU to be released by both parties (or pakistan)

Does seem that Iranian govt may well be better placed now than in mid Feb

    netenyahu is definitely not

if he manages to cobble together a govt post the upcoming elections (has to be end Oct latest) it would be remarkable.  He gambled big time on this, dragging in the USA and its failed miserably.
