    It's certainly a big possibility.

Can we find buyers for these for a fee the club will accept (historically No!) I can't see how we can afford to keep more than a couple on, hopefully relegated wages

    Faes

    Okoli

    Mavididi

    Fatawu

    Vieites

    Decordova Reid

    Souttar

    Kristiansen

    Choudhury

    Skipp

    Vestergaard

    Thomas

There was speculation in the punter corner that clubs often have wages clauses if relegated but that no one would have the foresight to spec in a double relegation. So LC will be stuck paying high wages to players that either no one wants or they are happy just going through the motions whilst seeing out their time on high wages. Its a Danny Ward someone somehow gave me an extension scenario on steroids.

the Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR). Far from being a tool for "stability," PSR has become a financial guillotine for any mid-sized club daring to challenge the elite.

Leicester City FC have achieved nothing that hasn't been tested before by Blackburn Rovers, Bolton and Leeds United. It proves you can buy a temporary fix but at the undeniable cost of long term decline. It is certain another club will try the same recipe, Wrexham possibly?

If you're measuring managers as managers not just as head coaches (ie, their impact on the whole club not just on-field performance) then I don't think there's any argument here.

It's Brendan Rodgers by a massive, massive, massive distance.

Fair points. OK - it's BR for the toxicity in spite of one significant redeeming aspect, our one and only FA Cup. I think that was the last 'good game' that I enjoyed a whole game of football involving LCFC.

  4. A trip down memory lane up to last month, unfortunately I'm old enough to remember most of them. I'd personally hand the trophy to Holloway as the only manager who ever managed (to date) to get the team relegated to the third tier of English football.

Tom Mather P2 Win ratio 0%
Kevin MacDonald P3 Win ratio 0%
Mike Stowell P2 Win ratio 0%
Andy King P4, Win ratio 0%

Then those who had a decent run of games.

    Board P18 Win ratio 16%
    Frank McLintock P 40 Win ratio 12.5%
Dave Bassett P32 Win ratio 12.5%
Ian Holloway P32 Win ratio 28%

  5. When you play 15 players every game, unless you are putting subs on sitting 4-0 up, then it shows what a rag bag of a team the side is. No cohesion, no backbone - just nothing much. It doesn't matter if you have half decent players here or there, football has always been a team game. I reckon we have now landed at the season finish position.

  6. Danny Ward was the reason the side got relegated 4 seasons back. Single handed, the worst (by far) goal stopper in the league. Twice as likely to be picking an on target, goal bound, shot out of the net than the top keepers in the league. Stole a living and even managed a contract extension. So aided and abetted in his quest to be the absolute worst of the worst.

  7. This was decades ago, back in 1982 when Alan Young stepped into goal to replace the injured Mark Wallington. Back in the day you were allowed only 2 subs, so an outfield player ended up in goal and we completely thrashed the opposition with some long range blaster goals to boot. I think it ended up a 5-2 FA cup match win against the then also second division Shrewsbury. I remember feeling we were going to get a drubbing with a stand in goalkeeper but Smith got himself knocked out and came back to make a couple of really good saves. It was surreal.

Just for the sheer drama and amusement of the day, it was a once in a lifetime display of a GK performance. Everyone needs to live the moment, I found a highlights clip.

  8. I use eTorro for some of my investments and was fortunate to put a chunk of cash into Rolls Royce 3 years ago on reports of their work on a new aero engine design and modular nuclear reactor technology. I recently sold half the holding after a 1,070% rise and reinvested/diversified into oil stocks and a Vanguard managed global fund. Oil is getting back into fashion seeing they are scaling back on their performance drag green efforts required pre-Trump to boost their goody ESG score. Only a few weeks in and they are up 8 - 15%. Oils are pretty handy for dividend income to.  I also bought in to Tesla when people were setting them on fire. Up 40% in a few months, people don't tend to appreciate Tesla is a lot more besides cars. I still see Tesla as a buy stock.

For those not using eTorro I'd recommend looking at it as it is US$ based and Rachel is going to be tanking the £ in November.

People sleep on Elliot forget how good he was up the other end.

when you consider some strikers fail to score more than 5 in a season, he has 2 seasons of 7 and 6 goals.

22 Goals in 199 prem games

From my fading memory Elliot started as a striker before relocating to defence which is why he was pretty good at scoring goals, particularly headers from a time when we could actually score from set pieces.
