Them Puma Pure Nitros look like they might be a bit tasty at that price point. Getting a lot of hype. Released to general public on the 4th.
I’m eyeing up the deviate nitro elite 4’s but not sure if it’s just because they look nice or if it’s because they are a fast shoe.

Anyone else find Strava routes/maps bullshit?
Sunday thought I'd give a route it suggested on a 20 mile run.
Started off ok then the roads led me into farm tracks, had to hop over farm gates then suddenly lost in fields. Couldn't get out, every time I left one field I'd get another one in the way with a ditch separating each one. Skipped down one and stung my legs to bits with nettles.
When i did eventually get out had a farmer matey tell me one of the fields was covered in something. **** knows what but just said cheers and ran off down the road before i was shot for trespass or something. Nightmare it was 🤣
Footpath is your friend here!

Oxford allocation is wrong. If memory serves me correctly the allocation was circa 1250 this last season.

The **** were you expecting?!?
That’s what we both said
it just felt very well Leicester and all a bit of a last minute flung together shindig. The half time ‘DJ’ was so bad!
Still, an hour with the teenager who got some fresh air

We left after an hour as it was such an anticlimax.
Only highlight for me was Demari Gray - such a lovely chap who had time for everyone and Birch. Birch spoke to fans as if he knew you. Genuine top bloke.

Went last week - bit crowded for the course isn’t it? Albeit a very nice setting
Well. I started nearly 2 minutes behind the tailwalker as there was no way I was running without sanitising my hands!
The tree roots are a real trip hazard and I’m surprised that there’s no one near those spots.
But yeah, it’s crowded, very ‘run club’ and it doesn’t help when people are running/walking 4 across the path.

If you’re a fan of fast and flat then make your way to Victoria Embankment parkrun in Nottingham. I hated every single step of it as it’s not my type of course however some will love it.
A bit of advice though…..find a supermarket/McDonalds toilet as their ‘toilets’ are two portaloos which is awful for 700+ runners. Oh, and if you s*** your pants, be a hero and bin them and not leave them in said portaloo.

Have you tried Kendal Mint Club gels?
They sound right up your street re the taste and the texture is lovely compared to most gels out there.
They are amazing! The little green bars are also fantastic and were my fuel for my last marathon.

We had continuous rain, thunder and sheet lightning at at Desford from 3.30 for nearly 2 hours. Quite the storm
Yup, I’m in Hinckley and it seemed to go on forever! The thunder shook our house on a couple of occasions

parkrun at Clumber Park was perfect this morning! A little warm in places but the shade from the trees and the wind on the way back was spot on.
Not looking forward to tomorrow’s 7 miler - think it’ll be a 5am job otherwise I’ll die.

Up to 21 degrees before 9 AM on Monday apparently. Bit warm!
I ran in Italy the other summer and it was 29 degrees at parkrun. It was awful but they had Prosecco at the finish so it balanced itself out!

My days of ‘fast’ running are a bit behind me (2:47 marathon etc) - any ultra runners on here? I’m running Wildhorse 200 in a few weeks and have full Dragons Back in September. Will be collecting my sixth star in NY in November though.
I’d love to do the Dragons Back!
I’ve dabbled very much at entry level with a 32 miler (first half of London to Brighton), Manchester to Liverpool (50 miles) and have The Lap (47 miles) and Race to the Stones (full 100K) for next year.
My dream is to complete a 100 miler but I’m not sure that this 47 year old mum could do it! I know age isn’t a barrier however the head isn’t the best. -
West Ham are gone. Those first 20 or so minutes were ludicrous as they never got out of their own half.

I’m going to watch this tomorrow but it’s not looking good on the tears front though, by the sounds of it 😩
The teenager cried! She said she held it together until the April 2025 and having to re-live him leaving.
I cried as it all still seems so surreal. It also reminded me how glad I am that my brother (the only boy out of 4) hated football and that my dad dragged me along one Christmas to stand in the Kop at Filbert Street. Without out that I wouldn’t have this deep, insane love, for little Leicester City

Seeing the joy on Vichai’s face and being able to see how much he loved this club hit me a bit. And just seeing ‘that’ team. Even now it still doesn’t seem possible that a bunch of flung together misfits and nobodies achieved what they did.
It also reminded me of the love that I have for the badge.

the 5-3.
Watching it at the celtic manor on sky go wasn't the same.
I’d not long had my second child and was at home listening on the radio. Gutted I missed it

Anyone here doing this years GNR? I’ve never done it before however I was offered a place through Bodie Hodges today! Any feedback?

I’m a huge advocate for ‘fit and feel’. If they fit your feet well and feel ok when you run then they are the shoe for you.

Always thought hinckley was pure leicester but seen too many cov shirts around whenever i have past through.. surely a cure must be discovered 😆
Was about to say the same! Hinckley has been taken over by the highlighter orange £1 monzo shirts crew.

How did you find couch to marathon? I've been thinking about it with the aim to enter the Murcia marathon in Feb 2027, but thinking maybe I should try the half first
I don’t regret it at all. I was an overweight total non runner who ended up with a London marathon ballot place.
Not exaggerating by saying this….it totally changed my life

Just started the couch to 5k......Jo whiley going on in my ear how well im doing....not realising im out of breath red in the face and my lungs are trying to escape from my body.....tell me it gets easier.....
It doesn’t necessarily get easy because we change our goals…..
I’ve never actually done C25K (went straight couch to marathon) and I don’t regret it one bit
Good luck!-

Thought you needed a qualifying time for Boston UK or is it that your time there qualifies you for British Nationals? I know its a serious, serious race though.
Not to my knowledge, no. There are a number of runners who finish in the 5hr+ bracket. The race can be used as a qualifier for other races.

My favourite EVER race! It’s my second fastest 10K course.
No racing for me until the 28/6 and the fabulous Round Sheffield Round and then nothing until GNR for me.
