Talking about shit….anyone else in the south stand smell and see it

Thank you!

Right. I miss racing. I’ve got London and The Lap lined up in April & May but need something to boost the confidence. Any recommendations? I’ve done the likes of Oundle 20 and Naseby 1645 so looking for other suggestions. Ashby 20 is my bad luck race as first year Covid cancelled it and then in 2024 I rocked up and the team wouldn’t let me run as my face was swollen and they sent me to hospital not willing to try for a 3rd as this will be my last ever London and marathon so I don’t want to be cursed by Ashby again!

The best bit of Warwick Half is the alpacas around mile 10!

I’ve been offered them before via Blue Light when people haven’t taken them. Second offer are on fastest finger first and due to being a phone free site I’ve always missed out

Was about to post the same thing. I jokingly said on the way there that we’d leave at half time if we were 3-0 down. The teenager gave me the ‘mum don’t go back on your word’ look so we left. I feel frustrated as I naively believed that there was something positive in the making and time and patience is what we needed. Today confirmed that I’ve been somewhat deluded and we’re actually a shambles. To an extent I still feel like it’s being fed down from the top and the lack of passion plus direction has left us with this rotten sinking ship.

Oh and I’m up and out by 5:15am in the week and no later than 8 on a Sunday so I don’t lose too much time.

4 times a week - 1 speed 2 easy 1 long. Rest and recovery are key. I’m currently not training for anything so mileage sits around 20 miles a week. Once my training kicks in for marathon followed by an ultra I’ll be aiming for 30-40 miles a week

Currently glad that I finished work late which meant that the child had to go with her dad!

Holme Pierrepont parkrun for me this morning and ticking off my 128th different location. Boring as f but if you like flat then it’s the course for you. Managed my fastest parkrun since September 2025 (pre fracture). Still about 90 seconds of my happy 5K pace but will take that.

At the very top of the page click on tickets and it’ll bring up the fixtures

Ran the Golden Gates Gallop 5 miler this morning at Elvaston Castle. Nowhere near the speed of you guys but so happy to be back and being able to hold 9:30 minute miles across 5 miles. Here’s to pushing back towards to the sub 9’s. Finally feeling good since fracturing my wrist 12 months ago and the being hit with ‘womens health’ issues. Sucks being old.

Honestly my little legs can’t handle running flat courses!

So far Bestwood is my favourite

Manchester Half is an absolute dream of a course and I’ve never ever been able to match what I achieved that day. Annoyed as I stopped for a chat with family and friends at mile 8 but it was the first and on my time I ran a sub 2. I went into it on the tail end of a marathon training block and had a blasts You’ll love it.

Nice one! I struggle with Abbey Park as, like Watermead, it’s too flat.

I saw the scarf in real life today and I’m so on the fence about it. I feel like I’d look like a packet of sugar free mints or something similar. IMO, the yellow keepers shirt should’ve been our 3rd kit

Scroll down past the kids and the adults no sponsor shirts are there

I can’t help it. I’ve got a genuine soft spot for him!

I have to confess, I’m a fan of Bobby and have been since he signed for us.

These cheeky little feckers, turning up on. Tuesday night and giving us hope that things are going to be all ok

There’s something so incredibly unlikeable about him and I simply can’t warm to him.

Anyone parkrunning up in Barnsley before the game on Saturday?

The atmosphere yesterday was far superior to that of London. I’ve been lucky enough to run London a few times and there are points were the support is really sparse. Yesterday was wall to wall people with no gaps and the energy from them was incredible. And yes, with yesterday being half marathon number 20 something I said I’d never run another official half again so naturally I entered the ballot for next year.

I only saw one city shirt and that was on the walk back to the car. Had the best time ever at GNR today. As expected my time was nowhere near my best however the experience and atmosphere was something else
